Mother and Daughter Trip
Pre-trip report
Cast: Me: Disney fanatic that gets the I cant believe you are going again! spiel. Try to go every year, but skipped 2004 as I opened my own salon. I went in April to take a class that was being held in Orlando and imagine that...Disney is not that far away!
And now because of the free dining, my daughter and I are taking a budget trip (I had a free airline ticket, so just had to pay for hers) and free dining! How much better could it be??? Oh yes! I forgot, its also my birthday!
Daughter: Another Disney fanatic shes actually just like me, she can keep going and going and going, just like the energizer bunny. She does really well in school and her teacher didnt mind her taking 4 days off, so its a mother/daughter trip!
Step 1: Booking the trip
After looking on the web at Walt Disney World continuously for over a month, I started checking on the disboards again. I usually start with the dis about 4-5 months before I go on a trip and when Im planning. I kept hearing good things about Magical Memories Travel and had never booked with a travel agent before and was a little nervous, but I got Dawn and she let me know the day before it was released about the free dining! Woohoo! So, we booked it right away for September 23-28, 2005!
Step 2: Waiting for the 90 day moment to arrive to make adrs
I have changed adrs so many times its not funny. Whenever we go to WDW, we never stay on property, and we eat CS all the time. Only a couple of times we got the Fantasmic Package for Hollywood & Vine (yucky) and Mama Melroses (yummy). Our arrival day, we booked WCC (where my daughter told me I had to order a cake cause its my birthday and its not a birthday w/o a cake) for late in the evening. But seeing how we are waking up on 9/23 at 2am, I didnt think a late dinner was such a good idea, so we changed it to 5:00. For 9/24 weve booked Chef Mickeys and changed to Liberty Tree Tavern. For 9/25 we booked Crystal Palace for breakfast and CRT for lunch, we canceled Crystal Palace and instead of CRT, we have 1900 Park Fare. For 9/26 we booked 50's Primetime Café, changed to Sci-Fri, changed to Brown Derby, changed to Mama Melroses changed to Garden Grill. For 9/17 booked Garden Grill for Concourse Steak for dinner, changed to Concourse or lunch. Confused yet? I know I am.
Step 3: Waiting for the day to depart to arrive
It is now 11 days before we leave and Im just about all packed, Ive ordered a Pal Mickey (thanks Dis, got it for $13.99!). And I talk about it nonstop to a point where Im driving my family and clients crazy, lol. So, thats it, Ill write more when we get back and take lots of pictures too! Have a Disney Day!
