Pre-Trip Report for Three Princesses and a June Trip to the World, 6/24 We're Back!!

Yum....lemonade it is....I have a big pitcher of it right here! Actually at the Jersey Shore they sell the best fresh-squeezed lemonade!
I like the camp idea! I actually saw a really neat one and they said I could be a helper too. I will have to look into it!
I left a barn cause their lessons were $50 each and to do a half-lease was $350 per month. That entitled you to three rides per week one of which had to be a lesson for $50 more. Count that up....$550 for 12 rides! Ridiculous! I love my new barn though...much more quiet and less expensive! There is a chance I can change DH's mind still.

I forgot how much leasing is at some of those big show barns!! If you wanted to lease my horse it would be $125/month for 2 rides a week. No lessons!! But my horse isn't a fancy lesson/show horse..just a bomb proof guy who likes the trails. I hope you look into the camps...they were a great learning tool for me. Your daughter will love it!!

Went on an extra long trail ride tonight with my 2 friends. We just moved to this barn in Nov. so we haven't explored the trails yet. There are tons of creeks and moving water..which my horse hates. He won't cross unless I lead him. So I have no excuse but to practice it this summer. I don't blame him...when has a retired racehorse ever had to cross water!!?? Hope you had a nice ride this week if you were able to get out!!

Aw Cathy, sorry to hear about the horse situation. It certainly does sound expensive. Perhaps next summer? Put 10 dollars in a jar every week! It won't hurt so much that way. Thanks for the food and drink.

I see you're a Jonathan Reese Myers fan. He grew up about half a mile from me and went to the same school as my brothers (although he's a lot younger than them). He's so good looking isn't he? Almost classically good looking like Cary Grant or James Stewart.

Hmmm.. well, technically, I did come back with 3 outfits never worn. But I wouldn't have packed any differently - I only had extras due to situations out of my control.
I had a day-time and evening outfit for each day, plus 2 swimsuits/cover-ups, a lounging outfit (read: jammies that I could wear in public!), and a couple extra T's. I'd say it was just right for 6 days/5 nights.

Oh well this was very helpful V...thanks! I was sorta thinking along the same line!

Yes I think he is quite handsome!!! I don't have a specific "type" of guy...I just get weak in the knees when I see certain ones! That's so cool that he grew up so close to you!!!

Hello All! Help yourself to bread squares with spinach dip, fresh fruit and frozen strawberry daquaris (not spiked). I dont want a repeat of last night...poor Deb!

Well, guess what came today?????? Did you guess? How about now???

















Give up? Well it was the little girls' crocs! Awwwww, they are minature version of the adults. (Or maybe its the other way around... adults are gigantic versions of the kids )

The other thing is: Today's count is: 40 Days!


I was studying the WDWinfo and found a page with excellent toddler tips....here are my 10 Favorites:

1. Spending Money for Kids - Carrying cash for kids or adults is "dangerous" in that if lost or stolen, it is gone forever. So, give kids their spending money in Monopoly money which they can carry safely. When they want to spend it, pay mom or dad the amount and then Mom or Dad charges it on credit card.

2. Bring your own glow necklaces for the kids to wear at night.

3. Bring a pen light for the little ones on dark rides. They can turn it on without disturbing other guests but have enough light in their control.

4. Bring a small bottle of bubbles (the kind you get at weddings etc). The kids enjoy it while waiting in lines for rides.


5. My own tip - Last year I brought a "coloring book" which worked by writing on it with a marker filled with water. The page starts out white but when "watered" turns colors. Just refill marker. They played this quiet activity while waiting for dinner to arrive.

6. This one is for my littlest - Bring tube of stain stick for spills on clothes. Bring an old adult t-shirt (that was going to be a rag anyways) to put on littlest during the mac and cheese portion of dinner. It will be a huge bib that cover shirt and shorts. Throw out when done. Really she makes that much mess!

7. I saw tips for laminated cards for kids to carry with parents cell phone number and info in case they get lost. Also there were versions which you could tie to shoe. Also take several opportunities to teach kids who to go to. For example - ask kids if they were lost who would they go to right now. And what would they show them (info card) and say. Practice.

8. Have kids shop at hotel room. Bring items that kids like - trinkets, cards, stickers, lollipops, etc. Put in decorated box and have them pick (shop)several each morning to bring to parks. They are less likely to ask at park where prices are higher.

9. I have harness for both little ones so they are not stuck in stroller but can't wonder away while out.

10. And finally...bring stuff to wash up toddlers at the end of the night. Before leaving park, wash up and put in PJ's. Cover with towel/blanket and give stuffed animal to snuggle with while on bus. Then when they fall asleep they are already ready to go right into bed. (Uhh, don't do this with adults )




These are in addition to all the regular tips like bottle misters, changes of clothes, towels, toys, naps and rests. OK thats good for tonight! Have a great day! This weekend I will post some pics of the stuff we are packing!

Better than that...Disney gift cards for each with your kids names written on them. Much easier than any kind of cash, fake or not!

The Dollar Tree has a bunch of them!

Buy ones with holes in it so you can string some yarn to wear around their neck.

Unless these have gotten any easier to open, good luck with that! I wouldn't bother, but that's just me!

Great tips!!! Although the bubbles thing, as well as what Disneyolic said, don't you find that the child inevitably spills some on their hand and then rubs their eyes and screams in agony as the stuff hits the eye???? Or is that just my family?

My DD's ask for $ for their Birthdays before we go, last trip they each had (we made sure it was the same!) about $300 We then put $300 at the top of a piece of paper and each time they spent we deducted it, it really stopped them asking for everything as they knew once the money was gone that was it! Jess actually came home with about $150. It also stops them getting loads of junk for their Birthdays also they can buy stuff in America we just can't get over here, they are already deciding which Nintendo DS games they want

I followed your post link from Jo's report. Your girls are beutiful. I love just how in love I can tell you are with them...just love it!

You did a great job turning lemons in to lemonade (nick hotel to WDW for 7 nights). I have a few more pages to catch up, but as of where I am you are staying at POR. Which is a lovely resort.

They got $ from all the family and remember the $ is very good for us at the moment, just my parents give them $100 each (they are divorced) then their Aunties etc too! It soon mounted up!

I'm new to the boards and absolutely loving this pre-trip report.
I am also a teacher and we (DH, DS(12), DS(9), & Me) will be going to 'The Magical Place' on May 25th. (Our last day of school.) We are staying at Coronado Springs for 9 wonderful days. It is my 40th birthday present. Well, the way I see it you might as well make 40 as special as possible. What better way than Disney? Anyway, I am really enjoying your report, not to mention the snacks and massages.
I can't wait to hear your final plans on accomodations.
Anxiously awaiting to hear more.

I am a teacher, too and totally jealous that you will be done almost a month before me. We don't get out until June 20th for the students, June 21st for us teachers. I know that different parts of the country are on different time tables, but it must be nice being this close to the end.

What a great way to celebrate your 40th! Disney will definitely make your day more special. That's why we chose to go to Disney for our anniversary this upcoming December. We wanted to make it extra special.

About September 4th, didn't realise your dates were so different? And I just double checked the dates and they break up on the 25th not the 24th
