Pre-Treating with a H.E washing machine??

My DH is the team manager for her girls college soccer team....Great job, lots of perks except she has to wash the team uniforms. She doesnt mind this job except this year the school bought HE front loaders. She knows she has to use HE detergent but the grass stains are not coming out of the white home jerseys. She needs to pre-treat them but with what??? What can she use that wont damage the HE machines. She has to use cold water because the whites have red lettering so she can't use hot water or bleach....any suggestions? I thought perhaps oxyclean????? HELP!!! Thanks so much.

I use whatever stain remover that is one sale or that I think is good. It doesn't matter if is HE or not.

I use spray and wash, or sometimes I will use my liquid tide, which is for HE washers. If you are just using a stain remover, you don't have to worry about it saying HE on it.

She can use whatever pre-treatment she would have been using with a 'regular' machine. HE is is about the amount of suds in the detergent, and the pretreat stuff doesn't usually suds up, so I think she should be fine.

Personally, I'd try some oxyclean or Biz

I use Shout gel for stain removal with my HE machine all the time. It works well and I have had no problems with the machine.

As far as the red letters fading on the white jerseys, she might try using Shout Color Catchers. These are sheets you throw in with the wash cycle and they somehow absorb the color and keep them from bleeding. The sheet comes out colored, but the clothes don't. I have had good luck with these, and they might enable her to use a warm water cycle.
