Is the pre-order photo package worth it?

"Worth it" is up to you. How many photos do you think you may want to purchase (ball park estimate)? Individually they cost $20.95 for a an 8X10 and $14.95 for a 6X8. You'd have to figure out the numbers yourself. Pre-purchasing the full digital package saves you 15% over buying it onboard. Keep that in mind.

I love photos and because I'm the family photographer, I'm never in ANY of our vacation photos. We've pre-purchased the entire package and I've been very happy we did. I buy digital only and put them in our scrapbooks. Last 7 day cruise I used over 40 of them. So for me, it's totally worth it. And they have been my Christmas card photo for the last several years.

That being said - you have to make an effort to get your photo taken.

Yes! Yes! Yes! In August my husband and I went on the Alaska cruise and we pre-ordered the prints and cd package. We couldn't be happier with our decision. We could take all the photos we want and we know that we will have all of them in the end and on a CD. We will definitely do it again for our next cruise next October 2017. Instead of CD's, they now give out USB drives.

Also, keep in mind that you can cancel the pre-purchased package all the way until the end of the cruise. So, if you find out that you don't want to invest the time to stand in line for pictures during your cruise or that the pictures all turn out very bad, you can just cancel your prepurchased package and get a refund.

I would do it. We didn't pre-buy on our toddler's first cruise because I wasn't sure if I would want them. I kicked myself for it after. We bought the package of 10 digital pictures for $150 because we had some that turned out very nice, especially our pirate night ones. For another $50, I could have had all of my pictures, which was closer to 25. Plus, I would have had them take more pictures if I knew I pre-bought. I also have read that if you are unhappy with the pictures, they will supposedly refund your money.

That's good to know! I am never in any of our pictures, and we have had some very bad pictures from our previous trips. I would hate to spend that much money and have only 2 or 3 pictures usable :)

We went on a 4 day cruise on the Dream in September of 2015. It was totally worth it for us. I am never in the pictures so it was nice to be able to get the whole family together with all the characters.

We also used the family portraits (taken before and after dinner) for our Christmas cards.

All in all we had just over 200 pictures taken on a 4 day cruise. My family likes to take pictures.

On the plus side when my daughter (3.5) was taking pictures with the characters I could take videos.

That's my 2 cents but it's entirely up to you.
