New Group: Me again, with DH , his DS John, DIL Judy, DGD Linda (age 11 and ready for anything); DGS1 Tommy (age 9 and not ready for anything) and DGS2 Matt (age 5 and lover of all characters)
Wednesday, April 3: Everyone is up and atem this morning, and the kids are so excited. We got the monorail and got to MK at about 7:50. No lines to speak of at the gate. By the time we got through security, the gates were opening and we went up Main Street, through the Castle, and were right at the front of the line for Fantasyland. DGD and DGS2 got right up at the rope. I had told DGD that if anyone asked for volunteers, she should start waving her hand like crazy. The CM approached one little girl, who shyly demurred, and DGD started waving her hand like crazy, and sure enough, she and DGS2 got to open the park. It was so exciting both of them up there, DGS2 with his pirate flag and DGD with her magic wand. An added surprise when we got a front-of-the-line pass for our whole group to any Fantasyland attraction we wanted. When the rope dropped, we went straight to Dumbo and all got to ride almost immediately. Then to Pooh, with the same situation. All the children, even thrill-ride-wannabe DGD, enjoyed the Fantasyland rides. Who would not, what with them being so charming and all. After Pooh, everyone went over to the raceway to ride, since that line gets really long and slow very quickly. I went and got a FP for Haunted Mansion and went back to Raceway to see if I could get a picture of them taking off, but they were already on the track when I got there. I tried, but they were too far away. We stopped off at teacups, where the girls and boys split up and we twirled and spun until I had to take a minute getting out, I was so dizzy. We went to Small World, which enchanted everyone (DH's favorite). We spent a little time shopping, but tried to put it off until later when we had done pretty much all of the rides we wanted to. Ride-wise, it seems to be lining up as DGS1 riding with DH (who he is confident will keep him safe), me and DGD (dare-devils) and DGS2, DS & DIL(although we try to mix it up some). Next stop Haunted Mansion. If I remember correctly, DS & DGS2 sat this one out, while DGD and I rode in one car and DGS1 & DH went in another. DGS1 didnt like this much, a little too intense, I think. At this point, we went to Hall of Presidents, which was impressive for everyone. We finished up our adventures just in time for our lunch at the Castle. I had tried (unsuccessfully) to get PSs for the breakfast with the princesses, but figured it would be fun to eat in the castle regardless of princesses. And it was. The atmosphere is so medieval and every detail is perfect, and it was great to be M'Lorded & MLadied while we dined at leisure. Actually, the Fairy Godmother came through on her way to the Cinderella show and waved. Our timing was perfect (11:45). We walked right in, with no crowd at all, and when we left the waiting area was packed.
Back to the hotel for quiet time (for me and DH, who both were coughing pretty much by that time) and pool time for the family. We had planned to go to World Showcase tonight, and have dinner at Beaches & Creme, but we felt so bad that we ended up just resting, hoping we would be better in the morning
