I hear that 1900 Park Fare will be closed when I go in August. I also hear that the dinner will be held at the Grand Floridian Cafe as a "pre-plated" meal. Anyone have any idea what it might be? Will it be a limited menu with a few choices...or a big plate of stuff served family style???

DS(5) has reqested a meal with Cinderella:lovestruc ...so it has to be Cinderella's Dinner at 1900 Park Fare b/c even if the Dining Gods are smiling on me when I try to make ADR's and I snag a CRT ressie-I really don't want to spend 2 TS credits or that much $$ OOP for that meal. We've eaten in the castle a month before it switched to the current character meal. The Princess meal at Norway is iffy b/c I can't be guaranteed that Cinderella will be there.

So, any thoughts about the menu?

Do you know why it's going to be closed? Are they remodeling? It seems to make sense if they are - I heard a rumor that the entire GF is getting a major overhaul. So maybe the move to the GF Cafe is temporary.

Sorry, but I have no idea what they'll serve.

Hi
I just called about this today. The preplated meal will include an appetizer, soup, salad and the following choices: shrimp and pasta, (she didn't know what type of sauce), prime rib with mashed potatoes and I think asparagus, chicken and potatoes au gratin, tofu with vegetables and salmon with spinach. After hearing this, we've decided to the the princess breakfast in Norway. Last year we went to 1900 Park Fare for dinner with Cinderella and it was so much fun. The food was really good and the characters paid a lot of attention to my DGD. We went to BBB before the dinner so she wore her Cinderella dress. She wants to get dressed again for this breakfast. After the rehab, I hope they go back to the buffet.:goodvibes

I don't think Cinderella is ever at the SBP meal in Norway.

Yes, Cinderella is indeed at the Norway Princess meal -- not all of the time of course. We saw her on both of our visits -- May 2005 dinner and Dec 2006 lunch.

However, if your child's favorite is Cinderella, the Grand Floridian is the best character meal to meet her. At CRT, we had a 5 second photo. Norway was better, but still a little rushed.

I didn't know that I guess we just haven't been lucky enough to see her. Our lunch in Dec. we saw Ariel, Jasmine, Mulan, and Belle I hope we might see Cinderella there in Aug. because I'm not sure about 1900 park fare and I don't want to use 2 credits at CRT.

Thanks disnut1149 for the info on the menu!

A new twist...as of this morning, DS says he wants to have breakfast in the Castle! UGH! I thought being a mother of an only son would save me from the dreaded "how do I get an ADR for CRT" thing!:rotfl:

First-he's really a breakfast eater-he only ate one of nine dinners I think on our last trip! (yes, that was a whole lot of expensive mac n' cheese thrown out that week!) So, dinner dosen't really appeal to him.

Second-he wants to see Prince Charming too, b/c he's never seen him at the parks before.

Interesting point someone made though, that you only see Cinderella for like 5 seconds for a photo at the castle, where you get more interaction with her at the GF dinner....hmmm, maybe I can still change his mind. I would be all over the Norway breakfast-but no guarantee of Cinderella, and no prince...

wow. I totally appreciate the things my mom did for me now more than ever!

Whenever we've done the princess meals (every trip!) Prince Charming has only been at 1900 Park Fare. We've never seen him at the castle (we've had breakfast and lunch) or in Norway (also breakfast and lunch). He has always been at 1900 Park Fare.

I called to make my breakfast reservation for Norway on my dd birthday during our trip. When I asked about 1900 she told me the same menu as the earlier poster... and that she thought it was not a good deal to get a preplated meal at that cost. While I tend to agree, I can't believe she said that. I too think we want to go there to see all the Cinderella characters, but want to have some July reviews before making our final decision, which I am not sure if we can wait for.

That's what I used to think too until we ate there on 10/3/06 and she was there @ Dinner along with Belle, Aurora, Ariel, and Jasmine
  I'm sorry I had bad information.

To go along with this, does anybody happen to know what will be on the pre-plated breakfast?

Prince Charming is at the GF as well, a couple years ago, DS dressed up as Gen Shang (Mulan's Prince) and Prince Charming went nuts over him. You get much better character time at GF.

And while we're on the subject of princess meals....
Does anyone know the earliest ADR you can get for the Akershus breakfast? I don't want to be eating too far into valuable touring time!

Take the later seating for the Princess Storybook Breakfast. That way you can get into the park, do some rides before the lines get long, get some fastpasses, and then have a nice breakfast. Late seating times are between 10 and 10:30. Otherwise you will eat into valuable early morning low crowd park time.

As for Cindy meals, I don't think we ever saw Prince Charming at CRT. He is at Cindy's Gala Feast at the GF. We'll probably pass on this meal in Aug as the pre-plated fare at those prices doesn't seem worthit. But, if you have to see Cindy and Prince Charming I'd take it over CRT.

CRT is neat, and MAYBE worth the price if you've never been before, but we have and CRT comes in a distant third to the Norway Princess Storybook meals and the 1900 Park Fare Cindy dinner.

According to allears.net the renovation at 1900 Park Fare is scheduled to end on Oct 1. Does anyone know if Disney is good about keeping these dates or do they tend to run late? We are going first week of Nov and I have ADR at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. I'm hoping they will be done and back to the buffett. DD really wants Cinderella also.

Thanks
