Pre-paid meals and Disney Visa Rewards

I booked (via phone) the Wishes Dessrt party earlier this week and tried to use my Disney Visa Rewards as payment, but the CM said credit card only. She wasn't sure though if it had anything to do with the upgrade that was underway. Has anyone had success paying for Wishes Dessert with the Rewards?

I have had success doing this for CRT, but I just did it at the restaurant when we ate (they credited my visa used to pre-pay, then used the rewards card). Not sure if this can be done for Wishes since you don't get a check at the end of the event like you do at CRT.

I have some sort of an explanation for you.
A while back I tried to order an item on the Disney shopping site and wanted to pay for it with my Disney Visa rewards card.
They would not take it because they could not be sure that there were actually points/dollars on there.
If, however, you are actually handing over that card, they swipe it and can determine if you have enough to make a purchase.

Interesting...I have never had an issue on Disney Shopping, you just enter a back-up credit card and it charges the rewards first, then the balance to the CC. I am not sure if there is a place they can "ring me up" though at the dessert party...but now as I type this, people do walk-up (if they are very lucky ) So there must be some way for them to pay. I guess I will have to see for myself in January, although it doesn't help me pay for my aunt's party this week (since I am not there...but oh well).
