Hello, I know I have seen this question before, but we never needed to use one before. We are driving down for our next cruise and was wondering about any Hotels close to Port. I have seen alot of people talking about the Radisson?? Where is that located?
Any tips would be helpful.
THANKS!!!!

We stayed at the Radisson the night before. Rented a car and drove down from Orlando. Dropped the car off the next morning and took the shuttle from the rental car place to the boat. It worked out great. The Radisson is less than 5 minutes from Port. Nice place and I would recommend it. We saw both rooms, the standard room and the suite. The suite was really nice, but the standard room wasn't that great especially for 4 people.

If you stay at the raddison then you can leave your car there and take the shuttle to the ship and save the 70.00 parking fee.....

We stayed at the Hawthorn suites a mile from the Orlando Airport, then took the Disney bus from the airport to the Port the next morning. The suite was great for the four of us, included a kitchen and table, even though we ordered out for Chinese food and had it delivered. A happy hour and breakfast come with the room.

I did go to Dave's site and it had maost of the surrounding Hotels. I saw that at many of them you could leave your car right at the Hotel. We are driving down from up North in a Motor Home, so that would be great. Do they take you and all your luggage from the Hotel to the Port? How does this work?

If the Radisson doesn't work out- like it didn't for us- then you can also stay at the Quality Suites at Cocoa Beach. It is the sister hotel of the Radisson and you can get their "Aloha Cruise Package" which includes parking (at the Radisson) and pick-up by the Radisson shuttle. It is also less expensive and we could get a non-smoking (very important since our daughter is asthmatic) two-room suite for a lot less.

It doesn't have a pool though. That doesn't concern us because we are getting in later in the evening, but the Radisson is supposed to have a very nice pool area.

Dave recommends it on his site, as does the Passporter. HTH!

We have stayed at the Raddison twice now, before our cruises. We love it. We have never eaten there though..as the buffets didn't look all that appetizing. We always head over to Grills, for dinner the night before and breakfast the morning of the cruise. You can see the ship from the restaurant that morning..nice way to start the day.

The rooms are fairly large at the Raddison, very clean. The maintenance staff is fantastic..our AC went out, right after we checked in, we called, and they were at our door within minutes and fixed it immediately. The manager also followed up after that to make sure the AC was working ok. Very impressive.

The pool area at Raddison is very nice and both times we were there, there was live caribbean style music in the afternoons..really gets you into the cruising mood. There are also plenty of other cruisers there, from all ships..nice to talk with them.

We have never tried a suite, always just a regular non smoking room.

Glad to hear all the good reports on the Radisson. We are staying in one of their Suites (there are 6 of us so it is still cheaper than getting 2 rooms) for the 2 nights before our cruise and the night after our cruise. We really wanted a ncie pool area as that will keep the kids busy until Sunday!

What type of restaurant is Grills exactly? We are using Southern Elegance to get us to the Port and back to the airport so we have no wheels! Is there enough food options around the Radisson?

We also stayed at the Radisson and left our car there while on the cruise. But because I am a compulsive planner, and wanted to be very, very early to the ship, we called a taxi and had them drive us to the port. Now, when we returned we took the shuttle. There are lots of shuttles, and as one leaves, another drives up. Which makes it nice if it is a cold and windy day, like the day we got back. Have fun.

I have booked the 10 am shuttle to get to the Port. Is this early enough - or should we be prepared to call a taxi!
