We are planning on staying in Port Canaveral the night before our cruise and we are looking for a locally owned place to eat. I have seen Grills Seafood and Fishlips from the ships when leaving port in the past.

Where do you all eat when staying in Port Canaveral? If you have eaten at Grills or Fishlips, which would you recommend? Or do you know of any other locally owned places to eat that are really good?

thanks

I like Rusty's which is near Grills and that other one.

We ate at Fishlips once and really enjoyed it.

We always eat at this Italian place, it's by the raddison hotel. It's not the nicest but for whatever reason, we always eat there.

Unless you particularly want to see ships, I don't recommend anything right by the port. The Fat Snook is probably the best place in town, excellent seafood. Barrier Jack's is also good. Both restaurants are down in Cocoa Beach itself, not by the port. You would need a car, or taxi or Uber.

We have been to Fishlips and a few of the other places along the water and have had good luck at most of them. As we only live about two hours from the port, we'll go up once or twice a year to have a late lunch and watch the ships leave port at 4pm. It's usually a good time. On our cruise next February, we intend to leave the house at 9am and drive up to the port, have lunch at one of the places along the water, and then go to the ship and board at 1:30 when the cabins are available so we can walk on and put our hand luggage down and get settled for the cruise with less fuss.

I live near the port

if you ask a group of locals you'll probably find a fairly even split of favoring Grills, Fishlips, Rusty's and Millikan's

HAve been to 'em all & I prefer Grills .... more grilled options versus fried IMO .....

Grills is also the one of the bunch that's done enuf business to warrant a second location in recent years.

and when they can get it .. they do lion fish

We sailed on the Dream last week and before our sailing we had dinner at Rusty's. Our server was fantastic! I left her my email address and she took a picture of us on the Dream as we were leaving port and sent it to me. Definitely adding that to our Christmas card this year.

Any votes for Milliken's? I was looking at their menu and it looks pretty good.

IMO

Mil' is more expensive than the others while the food is no better

and these are facts ....

Mil is the west most .... so the first the ships pass .... and the ships from terminal one are WAY down stream .... or in other words you see LESS of ship departures.

I've met you over on the CC boards.
