Prayers, please. I spent the night with Grandma at the hospice.

I was there Tuesday night and Wednesday day. They were her night 12 and day 13 with no food or hydration.

She was doing surprisingly well, but requested water whenever she happened to have a brief awake period. We’d let her suck on a little wet sponge-tip thingy. Sometimes the drops went down to her stomach. Sometimes they ended up in her lungs and she’d suffer an awful coughing spell.

It’s all so very hard to watch. The end can’t be far now. For Dad and Aunt’s sakes I hope her passing doesn’t fall exactly on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. That would be very hard.

On Friday we’ll all be there. Her 2 kids, 4 granddaughters, and 13 great grandchildren…one last time.

I am sorry for all you are going through. Sending prayers for a peaceful passing.

You are very strong...I'm not sure I would be in your position. :guilty:

I hope both your Grandma and your family find peace. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

DFIL passed on the evening of the 25th four years ago - the hospice nurse told us he must have been very special to be called home on Christmas Day.

Sorry to hear about your Grandma - prayers are with you.
