Okay my scrapping sisters, I have a request to ask of you all- I probably post on these boards more than any other, so I feel like I "know" some of you. Anyway, heading out to our favorite place tomorrow and I have two little prayer requests:

#1- My traveling companion- my lovely mother- was diagnosed with having a "calicified mass" in her brain last week. She has had a headache for almost 3 weeks now, and she went to the doctor last week and wasn't expected that as an answer! The neurologist called her and said it wasn't anything that was growing or was going to kill her-it probably wasn't what was causing her headache either. He said they are fairly common and treatment to remove it can begin any time in the next year. Please just pray that she is able to relax and have a fantastic time this week and that her headache does indeed go away!

#2- On Monday of this week I was cleaning my kid's room and I was kneeling on the floor, enamored with a scene in Trading Spaces. I leaned back to pick up a toy and POP- out went my kneecap and GRIND back in it went. This is the 4th or 5th time I have done this, and now that it's almost 4 days later, it definitely isn't as serious as other times I have done it. I can already walk without crutches, although I do have a 2 foot long knee brace on. I'm not in a lot of pain, but I am disappointed that I may not be able to do some of what we were planning on (Blizzard Beach, and at this point some of the rides may be too hard for me to get and out of). Please just pray that the swelling continues to diminish and that we have a great time regardless of our injuries!

Thanks!!!!!

I believe in the power of pray. My thoughts will be with you both on this trip.

are hedaing your way!!! I hope your mom's headache goes away and I hope that your knee brace can come off when you arrive!

Oh my gosh I am so sorry to hear you and your family is going through this. Prayers for all of you!

love, prayers and pixie dust from way across the Atlantic to your mum and you too!

And my little  (that's Natasha the angel) sends an extra magic rub and a bit of pixie power.

Alice, I hope you & your mom can relax on this trip & just enjoy the pixie dust of WDW.

As for your knee ... have you considered renting an ECV while at WDW? You might want to take a moment to read some posts on the DISabilities section of this bb. I have rented an ECV from Walker several times now & would recommend them. They deliver the ECV to your hotel & pick it up there, too. You do not have to be present for delivery or pick-up. It will save on your knees - remember all the walking one does at WDW :)?

Thanks everyone- I knew I could count on you all to send me some good pixie dust! :goodvibes

Judith- I am thinking about an ECV for at least our day spent at Epcot and our day at Animal Kingdom as I feel those parks are especially huge and AK is a bit hilly. I just went to the grocery store and would have been fine if it hadn't have been for my two year old SCREAMING the majority of the time and refusing to sit in the little seat...ughhh...but no pain. Driving is a little hard. but mostly because of the pressure my brace puts on my knee if I have to bend my knee a bit. I think if I drove without it it would be better----I can bend my knee to about 80 degrees already- it's mostly the swelling, not the pain that is prohibiting me from doing more. After having gone thru phys. therapy 3x's for this injury, I know how much to push myself and how much to back off, so I think I'm okay.

Thanks again everyone!!!! I will be thinking of you all when I look at the scrapping goodies at the shops. :wave2:

Then I bet you know how important straight leg raises are :)! I sshould be doing more of them myself :).

Yes, I've already been doing those, flexing my knee every hour or two, and flexing my quadracep muscles every time I think about it. :smooth: So much fun!

Prayers are going out right now:listen:
