There was an inservice day yesterday and the choir teacher didn't show up, no one questioned it. This morning, she didn't show up for class and the band teacher noticed 1st block, sent the kids to the drama room. One of the band students said he lives in her neighborhood and he saw a stretcher with someone completely covered leave her house late yesterday. School calls and she was found dead by her husband. Details are sketchy right now, but she had epilepsy and he was on duty (military) and gone the weekend until late yesterday when he found her dead.

There are over 100 kids in her 8th/9th grade choir who adored her. She was 32, no children and she did everything with and for her students. The school is telling the kids block by block - largest was 1st block my DD was in. The kids are all basically hysterical.

Prayers needed.

thanks

That really stinks. I will keep her and all her "kids" in my thoughts.

How awful for the husband, how awful for the students. my prayers go out to all who are touched by this.

I am so very sorry Hugs to your daughter, and everyone involved :grouphug: That's extraordinarily sad :guilty:

:sad1: What a shocker and indeed very sad. Sending prayers for all involved.
May your little DD/classmates get the counseling needed and their questions answered.

How awful. Her family and students and in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

How very sad...for your DD's school and for her family. Prayers being said.

We have a disease that runs in our family called Long QT syndrome that often takes young adults without warning. And many times people are thought to have epilepsy when in fact it is actually this heart condition causing them problems. You might mention it if you get the right opportunity. There is a website: sads.org that has lots of information as well.

Oh, that's horrible. I hope the kids are able to find someway of dealing with their grief. Maybe the school will bring in a counselor if they don't already have one on staff for those who may need someone to talk to. Really so sad. :(

:grouphug: Both of my dd's are involved in the choir program - I know how close they can get to dedicated teachers. My fil died very young from epilepsy also - he was only 28. Scary.

Hugs to your dd & all of her students. Prayers for her family. :grouphug:

Talk about creepy - I'm a 32 year old music teacher of 8th graders!

I am so saddened by this. I send nothing but warm thoughts to your DD and all of her classmates, the teacher and her family. :grouphug:
