I have stayed at the DLand hotel and planning on staying at either the GCali or the PPier next summer. I know how long the walk is from the DLand hotel and know that GC has the entrance to CAdventure.
Can anyone compare the walk from PPier to the theme parks? Is it the same, longer, or shorter then the DLand hotel?
Thanks
It depends on how you look at it and exactly which route you take. In a way, I think the DLH is almost a longer walk than the PPH. It seems to be futher out on the property, and it also depends on which tower you are in. With PPH, if you follow their signs along the path to get to DLR, the walk will seem like forever. In fact, after a long, hot, tiring day, if you are traveling with people who have aches and pains, the walk back to PPH (following their signage) can be downright daunting. So, the key is to
not follow their signs. Take the 'short cut.' Once at the PPH, go out the front entrance, where the valet parking is or used to be (I think) and just walk right across the street (
Disneyland Drive) to the GCH, and cut through the beautiful lobby. From there, you can either use the GCH entrance to DCA (which is available to all resort hotel guests, not just the GCH ones) or enter DTD and head to the DLR entrance. Of course, the GCH is the most convenient - or it seems that way - because of its proximity to DTD and the parks' entrances - and we did get
much more accomplished on our trip last year when we stayed there than when we stayed at PPH - but you do pay BIG TIME for that close proximity! And I am going back to PPH in a few days because the price was the best! But it is a longer walk than GCH, that is for sure.
