Is there some place where we can pick up a quick cup of coffee and pastries and bring them up to the room while we are all trying to get ready?

Yes - the Surfside Lounge in the Lobby has coffee and pastries - not a great selection, but it's something.

I believe the rooms have coffee makers, and if you have a car you can grab some pastries at a store close by. OR you could just get pastries in DL at Blue Ribbon Bakery and keep them in the room.

We stayed there April 2008, I would go down to the lobby almost every morning for hot chocolate while the rest of my group was getting ready in the room. It was very convenient and had paper cup holders so I could carry more than two drinks back up to the room. We ate breakfast there a few times, they had pastries, bagels/ cream cheese and cereals. It was nice to have something so convenient/ cheaper on the days in between character breakfasts.
