POT (Proof of Time) Race Equivalency Cutoff Confirmed Times

What is the usual accepted POT date range for a race?
We are looking to get into SS 2026 ans wondering if a June 2023 POT race would qualify…
(The information is probably somewhere but I may be too lazy to read the whole thread!) 😂 sorry!

Confirming POT cutoff for Wine & Dine half is 2:30 and the deadline is May 1.

Also, in an interesting twist, there appears to be a new option for time estimate in the 5K/10K drop-down. Everyone is pretty certain the fastest option used to be "under 8 minutes".

Reposting from the W&D thread, my theory on what might be happening:

This new estimate seems to be meant for elite runners, and if they're listing a pace estimate for <7 min in the 10k they might do something similar for POTs in the half. Not sure how they would designate them but you'd basically be peeling away a few dozen elite runners here, rather than bucketing them with the rest of A. From what I understand they sort of do this already? But it would be clearer in this case and more open to competitors. Maybe make this corral A and then 7-8 min pace B.

Of course, again, if they leave things open with the 10k (no POT) they're going to get a lot more than the elite runners! So I would strongly suggest that they use POT for at least this group.

Yes, exactly! I was thinking the same thing. But I didn't see anything in Kim's post that indicates that you submit PoT race results for the 10k right? Which means if I select "sub 7" pace -- RunDisney would/should verify that with some type of race result. This is an interesting twist! 👀😊

It's probably going to be very vague until October but what I would suggest is that they just use the POTs from longer races (which can be a 10k) for the 5k/10k. Then after that's done, you can assign the estimates.

Correct. There is no mention of or space to submit a POT for the 5K/10K. Just the new range in the drop-down.

Based on the OP screenshots from 2018, it appears a sub-7 min/mile 5k/10k estimate used to exist. Interested to see if it changes anything, or if we see the normal % of runners shift to choosing the fastest available time. We don't get stats on these like we do the HM/Ms, so it's harder for me to say one weekend to the next. But for the HMs, I've previously calculated that about 10% of the field chooses the fastest available non-POT.

I’ve never not submitted a marathon POT when registering for the marathon. But am I correct that I have a better chance at corral A for the full marathon if I submit a 1:47:33 half marathon POT than a 4:01:42 marathon POT?
Yes. A 4:01:42 marathon would likely land you in B unless things change. 1:47:33 half should be solidly good enough for A.

The 1:47:33 HM is a 3:47 M using the conversion rundisney appears to have used in the past. So the 1:47 is the better of the two submittable times even if rundisney changes their corral system.
