Posting pictures ??

I HATE to start a new thread with a question that has been asked a billion times over, BUT I can't find a post that answers my question.

I have tried posting pictures, but all I get is the link to the picture or just the url info. I have tried posting with

, and all I get is

. I have tried posting with the HTML code from the picture that says "HTML to imbed in website" and all I get is the HTML code.

What am I doing wrong? I am trying to post pictures that I have uploaded to Picasa web albums, a Google/blogger host. Any suggestions?

Post an example and we'll tell you. My guess is that you are using the URL for the web page with the picture rather than the URL for the picture itself.

To show the difference, here is the URL for the web page and for the picture of the "cool" Smily.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/cool1.gif

Now here are the same two URL's inside of tags.

To get the URL for the image, right click on it in your browser and select something like "Properties" or "Image Properties."

Do you think it's the Picasa site? Do I have to use photobucket? If so, that makes 3 places my pictures will be uploaded--Winkflash, Picasa, and Photobucket.

The link that Picasa gives you under "Link to this Photo" > "Paste link in email or IM" is a link to the Picasa Web Albums page that contains the photo, not the photo itself. The "HTML to embed in website" is for actual HTML pages, but you can't post HTML on the boards here. However, that HTML contains what you need if you are willing to extract it from the code.

you need the part in quotes after src=, in your case it is:
http://lh4.google.com/MickeyMFan/RlzybnPVMtI/AAAAAAAAAA4/2Q-7lvnTCRA/s288/Memphis049_edited-1.jpg

wrap that in

and you'll get

also, you have to change the "select size" dropdown in Picasa Web Albums before you copy it to get the appropriate size.
