How do you go about adding a picture to your signature?

I've tried at different times, but can never seem to do it? What am I doing wrong / not doing right?

Now, on my posting rules it says that I cannot post attachments. Does this mean no pictures in my signature? If so, how can I get that changed, or is that left up to the higher powers?

I don't want to flood my signature with a whole bunch of pictures, but I wouldn't mind being able to add one or two on occassion. Or for that matter being able to add a picture with a post (sometimes it makes a post clearer).

Any advice? :confused3

How are you trying to post them? I use a photobucket account and you double click the img so its highlighted then right click it and hit copy. Then you should be able to just paste that into your signature.
Does that help at all :confused3

You don't just right click on your picture and copy and assume that you can just paste them here. That doesn't work. I know cause I was clueless before. Yep, you can use the Photobucket account. You need to upload the pic to get the img code.

yep, that's exactly what I do..

The picture needs to be on the internet somewhere like an online album. You can't link pictures that are on your computer (that IS possible but not the best way). Once you've uploaded your images to an internet site (like an online album OR if your internet provider includes free online file storage, Comcast does), you need to create an 'http://..." link to it. Once you can see the image via this link (in a Web browser), you just add that link to the signature area of you profile (where you have your ticker). The DIS rules have limits on the size of the images so read up on that. You may need to resize your image (with an image editing program) before uploading and linking.

If you look at someone else's message that contains an image (either in the siggy or the body of their message), right click on it and select "properties". This will show you where that image is located on the internet and you'll get an idea of what a link looks like.
