Postcard discount resort codes

Does anybody know how WDW decides who gets a postcard discount code?

If anyone has gotten one, are they better than the ones you find that everyone can use?

Is there any way to get yourself on the list to receive such a code?

Thank you for the response. I guess I'm Bumping my own question...but also want to say that I am very familiar with Mousesavers and their discounts. I am just curious about these postcards in case there was any way I could get myself on their list!

Last year I booked the Beach Club using a code and then a few weeks later I got a postcard with a code for the AKL. I called anyway and asked if they could apply it to the Beach Club, and they did! I saved an additional $129 just from the postcard code.
This was the first time I ever got a postcard. We were at Disney once before in 2000 and never got a card.
There might be some kind of criteria Disney uses, but I don't know anyone who knows what it is. I surely can't figure it out. We didn't do anything special to get the postcard. It wasn't likie we were staying value and then to entice us up to Deluxe they send a postcard, since we were already booked for Deluxe.

I'm one of those people who never got a postcard and still can't figure out who does and who doesn't. Finally got one last month!!

In the past I have filled out surveys (inside parks and online), signed on the WDW site to receive future mailings/emails on specials, etc.

I've received a couple of postcards but it is always after I already have a trip booked for a different time period. The last one was for value resorts ....which may have come from the fact we booked All-stars for our last trip.

I got my discount code from an e-mail from Disney. When I called and ordered my Disney Vacation Video the CM asked if I had an e-mail address.

I can trace every single postcard I've received (and I receive about one every other month) back to the my Castaway Club membership. You're offered a membership after you take a Disney Cruise. I know that because it's the only time I ever gave Disney my street address. All other times (reservations, mail order stuff, disney club membership, etc.), I use a p.o. box address -- and have never received a postcard there.
