We fly two weeks today and I'm worried about receiving my tickets! I've checked and they haven't dispatched them yet which makes me anxious, especially with more trikes planned for next week. I wish they'd end them sooner!!We're going with Virgin is anyone in the same boat?:scared:

We're flying with Virgin on the 23rd and our tickets haven't been sent out either. I phoned them last night to enquire when they would be sent. The guy I spoke with said that they wouldn't send the tickets out with Royal mail. He also said that they are sent 10 -14 days before the date of the trip! I just don't get why they can't send them out sooner. They've had our money long enough!

Thanks so much for that Catherine, that helps a lot!

I agree with you there is no need (that I can see) for them to wait right up until the last minute to send these, it just causes more anxiety than there needs to be! We also have connecting flights booked so I need to receive mine well before we leave. Knowing that they're not going to use the Royal Mail is very helpful. Fingers crossed they'll send them soon! Sue

I am sure that your tickets will arrive no problems, it is frustrating that they don't send them out sooner, but then I would probably lose them! I don't think we even get tickets with Continental - they are E tickets, which to be honest makes me even more nervous!

We travel on the 20th and ours are showing as being posted but we haven't received them either. Will definitely be panicking if they don't arrive on Thursday of next week. I am hoping to do online check-in and don't even know if you can do this without the tickets.

When we travelled to Europe last year the tickets arrived four weeks early. If only

With the mess up that Virgin have made with DD's tickets/vouchers the guy in the Indian call centre said he would send some new ones out - i told him not to bother because of the postal strike (he was obviously unaware of this:rotfl2: ). He has promised that they have been emailed across to Manchester Airport....we will see on Thursday whether he is telling the truth or not!!

We are travelling with Travel City Direct on 18th from Gatwick. Wen I phoned today they said that they were phoning people to say that the tickets would NOT be sent but collected from the terminal the morning of the flight.

Thanks everyone, I decided to phone Virgin yesterday just to doublecheck. I agree with you Girlsontour, the guy in the call centre did not seem to understand the significance of the postal strike and merely said if I hadn't received them by the end of this week to phone them. That will be a week before we leave and I will be panicking! We won't even have the connecting tickets to get us to Manchester! The website still shows they haven't dispatched them yet and we leave in 12 days. It just makes me so cross, they've had our money for weeks (and its a LOT of money) and they just don't seem bothered. Because of this strike they should be sending everyones tickets out much earlier and preventing all this stress and worry ... GRRR!!

We are flying out in 13 days with Virgin Holidays and have also not received our tickets. Last week on Monday I rang the frequent virgin number (so that I could speak to someone in this country!) and she told me that they use UKMail to send out the tickets, not Royal Mail so I didn't need to worry. I have had a look at UKMail's website and it appears that they deliver the mail as far as your local sorting office so it is still the Royal Mail postie who would deliver it. I was also told when I rang, that on that day (Monday last week) they were processing tickets for departures on the 17th. By my reckoning they should have sent out mine by now but the website still says 'Tickets Not Yet Sent'. I will worry until I have those tickets in my hand!!

This is true. UKMail and a number of other basically do the profit making sorting and then hand the letters and parcels for the Royal Mail to deliver (delivery being the "loss making" part of the postal service, so of course they're not interested in that).

Bit of an update! I emailed frequent Virgin yesterday and asked what they would do abut my problem. They were really good and emailed me back this am (and phoned), to tell me that they would send me my tickets by a Courier.
Have just checked the website and it says tickets sent!!! Don't know how they are getting here but they're coming:yay: . I too won't be happy 'til I get my grubby little mits on them!

Thanks for the tip christi; I rang the fvc this morning and they are sending my tickets by courier too. Should get them tomorrow :)

I am still hoping my tickets will arrive in the post on Thursday as they have been showing as sent out for a week but obviously with no post they haven't arrived.
