Postal info and PD please

DH was just emailed at work today with a major change in his pay schedule due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. They usually pick up checks on Friday after but this year, the office is closed- checks will be mailed Wednesday at 4:30pm. We leave for WDW on Sunday and his check was our gas and spending money - we've already paid for everything else. So, needless to say - I am stressed.

The calculated shipping time is 1 day- its only one town away. Is it possible to get this check on Friday? I don't know how the mail works behind the scenes. Does it go ANYWHERE at 4:30pm, or am I looking at Saturday? If it doesn't come until Monday...I'll be sitting at home all week thinking of what I would have been doing at WDW.

I think you will get it the next day or Fri. provided they mail it on the day they said they will.

You don't have any credit cards? You could probably get one and have it over-nighted.

Assuming it was mailed before closing in that town that day, you should be okay. However, is it possible for a family memeber or friend to pick it up for you and either deposit it or express mail it to you?

I would think it would be in your mailbox by Saturday, with the Thursday holiday. Is there someone that might be able to loan you the money until you return, if the check doesn't arrive before you leave?

Being its one town over, you should get it the next day. Its being mailed on Wed., Thurs. all is closed, so in reality figure its going out on Fri. You should get it on Sat. But, just for peace of mind, can your dh call up his payroll dept. explain the situation and see if he can pick it up. If he doesn't want to call, then you call. I can't see them saying no. Or maybe payroll can fed-ex it to you to insure delivery on Sat. Tell them you'll pay for the fed-ex fee.
