For all of you who needed a mid-afternoon snack (or, as DH and I called it, we're-not-hungry-enough-for-a-full-lunch meal), here are the nachos we devoured a few hours ago at the ESPN Club. They were really good....

So Lawyergirl you are clearly into Cruel and unusual punishment teasing those of us who can't be at WDW. (They looked awesome)

I didn't know they had this! I HAVE to tell my Dad about this!!!!!!!! My Father-in-law-to-be and my Dad would have a GREAT time there :rotfl:
Can you tell us more about this?? What different scotches do they offer?? DH would love this!!

I hate to say this but after viewing Jc and Lawyergirls Boma pics it looks like they have skimmed out on the desserts IMHO. I remember the cheesecakes and Mocha crunch were individual servings not this "slop" out of a bowl or maybe its no the same dessert. Thanks to both for the Boma pics I know how crowded it gets.

Totally different desserts. When I peeked my head in yesterday, they had the mocha crunch back!

Oh and the cheesecakes were there - you just added your own cherry sauce to them. They were very good too!!!

Yup! ;)

I only hope someone returns the favour for me when I am stuck at my desk in my nightmarish job... Next Monday!! Waaaaaaaaah!!!! :sad2:

I have been lurking on these boards for awhile now... not sure how to post and put pics in properly but I couldn't resist making this my first post! Thank you to all who post there food and vacation pics.. it helps us feel like we are there already!!
Yummmmmmm! (and I have now decided to try alot of new restaurants becuase of these pics!)

Alrightie gang, DH and I have a new favourite restaurant in WDW.... JIKO!!

If any of you can spare the time/expense (it ain't cheap)/dining credits to check out this amazing restaurant, do yourselves a favour and book that ADR now! It is now an absolute MUST DO for every trip, even if that means we have to split a thing of fries from Pecos Bill every other day!! :rotfl:

Appetizer sampler platter (not on the menu, but they will offer it - $20). DH and I loved everything and we couldn't pick a favourite:

DH's Entree: the filet mignon with the red wine sauce and the mac and cheese (INCREDIBLE and incredibly rich):
DSCN2660.jpg

My Entrée: Halibut, with a tomato butter sauce and crispy sweet potatoes (Beautiful, light and refreshing - delicious!)
DSCN2659.jpg

DH's dessert: flourless chocolate cake stack, with peanut butter ice cream (gone in 60 seconds - he loved it)
DSCN2661.jpg

My dessert: Pistachio crème brulée with a chocolate base... I'm still sighing with joy about it (sorry for the blurry pic... :guilty: )

Amazing meal, incredible service... We will be back!!!

Today: Nine Dragons and another flight at Rose and Crown!!!

I think we had this one at HBD...it is the Lights!Motors!Action! Anniversary dessert.

Lawyergirl, I would love to eat at Jiko but how 'different' is the food?

wow this looks so good! I am sorry your trip is ending as well.I really enjoy your pictures! Look forward to seeing the pictures from Nine Dragons, ds & I are trying to decide if we want to eat here in Jan.

!!!

Just have to tell you, lawyergirl, that your most recent (and, as usual, awesome) post brought back memories for DW and I of our trip to Jiko (for DW's birthday, no less) this past August, to the point that DW (ah, heck, me too!) could actually get misty eyed!

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. It is our absolute favorite place to dine on WDW property. And it was only underscored by the fact that we were staying right there in good ol' AKL.

MAN! I can't wait to go back! :woohoo: ...Next year...

As always, lawyergirl, keep those awesomely awesome food pics coming!! I tell you, since I can't be down there in the World right now, your pics are, dare I say, a godsend! I'll be nearly as sad as you when your trip's over, 'cause it'll mean the end to my daily "where did lawyergirl eat today?" WDW fix.

Cheers! :thumbsup2

(Oh, and I can't wait to see your pics of Nine Dragons, as DW and I are mulling it over as a possibility for our next trip. Thanks! :sunny: )

Everyone :thanks: for the the pics! Lawyergirl I showed my DBF your Boma pics last night and even though we too were both a little iffy about Bomas we realised that there is lots to eat that we will enjoy :). I can't wait to try the soups and famous zebra domes myself! We are both excited now as we have never been to the Wilderness Lodge before and there will be the Christmas decorations as well to enjoy :goodvibes.

Here are our two desserts from Le Cellier when we were there in May. The "Happiest Celebration on Earth" Chocolate Whiskey Cake and the Maple Creme Brulee...both were incredible!! I could eat these everyday!!!!! :jumping1:

What is Creme Brulee? Is it sweet tasting ? I am diabetic and don't if I can have this

The whole point of Creme Brulee is the hard, carmelized sugar topping, over the custard.

Hellooooooo again everyone!! :)

Here, for your drooling pleasure, are the pictures from not one, not two, but yes three World Showcase restaurants! :Pinkbounc

Rose & Crown: Side salad and Bangers and Mash (split in half before I remembered to take the picture... :guilty:). DH desperately wanted to do the single malt scotch flight... Who was I to stand in the way!! ;) As always, everything was delicious!

Nine Dragons: DH and I must have gone to a different restaurant than everyone who panned this place... We loved it! Then again, we do love Chineese food and we regularly visit the more "upscale" places in Montreal, so we didn't have any sticker shock when we saw the prices. In all things (atmosphere, price, quality), this restaurant compared very favourably to the ones we frequent back home - we will definitely be back!

Appetizers - pot stickers and cucumber salad (both were awesome!)
DSCN2683.jpg

Main dishes
Canton Pepper Beef with scalion noodles (OMG, yum!)
DSCN2684.jpg

Honey Sesame Chicken: Very good, and we practically licked the plate. However, next time we may try something different, as the honey taste was pretty overpowering... At one point, I said to DH "You know, these taste like upscale McNuggets!". To which he said: *mumblemumble - stuff face with food* (As in, that's nice, dear, but could you shut up and pass me the plate! :rotfl: )
DSCN2685.jpg

Side bowl of fried rice (extra) and FREAKING HUGE bowl steamed rice (included with meal):

DSCN2686.jpg

Too stuffed for dessert!

And today's lunch: Chefs de France. I wanted to eat here b/c this way, we will have eaten at EVERY WS restaurant. This place was good and again compares favourably with our quality French eateries at home, but our waiter was right out of France (as in, a cold jerk who gave me a bit of a sneer at my Québécois French accent and didn't bother chatting with any of his tables... Typical Parisian snot... :furious: ). As a result, while it was good and I would definitely recommend it to people who want to try some good quality French food, I will likely pass on our next trip.

French Onion Soup: Yum!
DSCN2688.jpg

Croque Monsieur et sa salade verte (Ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich with green salad - this was excellent and may be a reason to go back for us...)
DSCN2689.jpg

*sniffle*

I will not cry I will not cry I will not cry... :sad2:

This will probably be my last trip report from WDW. :sad1: We have to check out tomorrow by noon which means tonight = packing night, and so I don't think I'll be posting my California Grill (tonight) and Crystal Palace (tomorrow lunch) pictures until I get home. (but don't worry - I will post them!! You can't keep me away from my food porn addiction!! :lmao: )

To everyone who posted such kind words - thanks!!! You guys rock!!! :thumbsup2 I look forward to seeing your food pics when it's your turn to head to WDW! Keep 'em coming!!!

Hugpug - Crème Brulée is less sweet-tasting than some other desserts, but it's still loaded with sugar, especially the topping... I would probably pass, depending on what type of diabetes you have. It certainly isn't a sugar free dessert!! :lmao:

It really depends on what you mean by "different". I don't find it "different" at all, but I eat many different kinds of food from Ethiopian, to Lebanese to French to a Good Ol Burger whenever the mood hits me!

Put it this way: as you can see from the pics (especially for the main courses), it's just regular beef, fish or whatever with a couple of extra spices and interesting preparation. The most "out there" things were the appetizers, but even then there were really no more than spring rools with cool things inside.

PM me if you have any specific questions and I'll be happy to help you out! :wave2:
