There is a huge 10k here in Atlanta Monday, the Peachtree Road Race 60,000 runners and walkers.

My goal to finish feeling good. Still having nagging issues with PF and ankle has been tight, so my training has been very sporadic. Its hot and hilly, but the crowd support and comaradarie is amazing. Can't wait! Big band party in the park at the finish.

Who else is running a race this holiday. Let us know how you did also.

I'm doing a 5 miler in North Canton on the 4th. I was hoping to do at least two but unlike last year all the races seem to be on the same day instead of spread out over the weekend.

Did two local 5ks this weekend.

A really small one on Saturday (about 150 total participants) Finished 4 female in the walk division with a finish time of 37:58

Did a much larger one this morning and finished in 37:23 which was good enough for 2nd place female and netted me a nice trophey as an AG winner.

I raced to the bottom of the Fritos bag and am happy to say I finished strong. :lmao:

Way to go!:lmao:

I finished my race in 31,382 place. I am happy it was stinking hot! Fun race with lots of crowd support.

Planned on 2 different 5Ks but wound up doing only the one on the 4th due to a major storm complete with lots of lightening. Running along the boardwalk in lightening just did not seem like a good idea.

Congrats Julie! I'd like to do that 10k some day. I really like 10ks. Was it very hilly?

DS, Mike and I did the Bluegrass 10k in Lexington KY on July 4th. It was the 35th annual race, and the 2nd time that Mike and I ran it.

We had great weather--completely overcast and only about 70. It started at 7:30am. It was pretty humid, but not bad with no sun. I beat my time from last year by almost 5 minutes. I have been dealing with itbs all spring, so I was very pleased! It was DS's first 10k. He and Mike ran together. I was a few minutes behind them and ended up just under 10:00 minute miles!:thumbsup2

I did a Firecracker 5k Saturday morning in Rehoboth Beach, DE. This was my third of 4 5ks in two weeks (all of this craziness is part of trying to qualify in a Summer Racing series). I finished in 27.30, which I was pretty happy with considering how hot and humid it was!

I did the Firecracker Triple (3 half marathons in 3 days) in Portland, OR.
