Post -Trip Report. Photos on page 9 and 10 - 4/29/2010-05/02/2010

Oh it's simple. :)

Five days total, 3 days in the parks:

4 pairs of shorts
5 pairs of undies (mama always said take an extra pair in case of an accident)
5 pairs of socks (in case one pair gets soaked on a water ride, which we usually avoid anyways)
8 tshirts (so I can have a choice and again, If I have an accident)
1 pair of tennis shoes.
1 bag of travel toiletries, which are aleady in a bag from the last trip. :)
1 baseball cap

Mama was always prepared for having "accidents".

We don't pack much so we can purchase tshirts, hoodies, hats and other souviners and have room to pack them. :)

When you go in the summer you have to pack 2 complete outfits for every day. At least I do. :rolleyes1

So the formula goes: Multiply the number of days in your trip by 2. Have that number of outfits. Add extra outfits in case, well, in case something! DO NOT exceed 50 lbs. in the suitcase. Pack a separate case full of shoes, beach towels, and other assorted crap. Tell your spouse to shut up when he tells you it won't all fit in the car to go to the airport. Pack a flat duffle to bring home all the stuff you buy in the parks. ;)

LOL honey, we both take one carry on piece of luggage and then we earch pack a small, thin foldable cloth bag (think the "green" grocery reusable type) for stuff we buy at the parks. Somehow, we're able to get it all to fit and carry it all on. ;)

Re: the packing. Wow. I swear I spend a week packing. Of course we drive and I bring the whole house with us:goodvibes

I am so excited for you both with your trip being so close.

Have a blast and lots of pictures. Did you end up or are you going to pre-order the CD and memory book?

Exactly!! Especially the part of telling the spouse to shut up when grumbling about luggage...lol

And what's this thing about one (1) pair of shoes??? Are you insane!!

Wow!! my packing is never that easy!! The only thing I think I do well is the way home.....I ship all the crap we bought!!!

We're just going to get a photopass card at the park, see what's on it towards the end and either buy one at the parks, or wait until we get home and pick and choose.

Yup! One pair of very comfortable tennis shoes, that's it. No need for anything else. :)

... and what if your underwear gets ripped off you!?!
(You might want extra - I know of what I speak.)

Just so difficult when you know DL and DCA like the back of our hands.

I know exactly what you mean! We were going to Space Mountain in January and we turned into Tomorrowland...at the end of what would be Star Tours DP turns right, and I had to tell her no SM is over there on the left! Confusing.

Have a great time!

Only one pair of shoes? Just in case (you have an accident) another pair might be worth taking! We're not leaving until May 5th and I've been packing and unpacking for weeks!

Have a wonderful time!

Um.....it's on the left? Huh. I'm totally picturing it different in my mind. LOL

I guess, I could possibly throw up on my shoes....

Naw, just the one pair. :)

Thanks hon!

Why is it that we don't hang out together? You live here, don't you?

There was one trip where the luggage ALMOST didn't fit in the car. I had 5 checked bags, 3 carry-ons, and 3 backpacks. On the way home we had all of that plus the souvenir duffle. That was the trip DS bought the "thumb piano", so I had to be REALLY careful with the duffle. Last summer we managed with just 4 checked bags. Since we left all the rain gear in the Owner's Locker I think we will be OK with 4 this year. Plus we'll have a washer & dryer in the villa.

I will bring at least 4 pairs of shoes, and I have a pair in the OL already. And per the Packing Mandate, I will be packed in full a minimum of 12 days prior to departure. All 30 outfits, plus whatever else I think I might need. ;)

Do we have to take away your gay card?? You need 2 outfits per day, one for day and one for night. A couple extra outfits just in case. 1 pair of shoes?? Are you crazy?! You need a pair of tennis shoes, a pair of dressy shoes, some dressy sandals, and regular sandals for around the resort/pool. I see you included the bag of toiletries, but I don't see an accessory bag?? You know...for the watches (at least 2), rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, pins, etc.

If I packed two outfits for a day, that would require me to leave a park to change, sorry, not going to happen!

Two pair of shoes for a casual theme park vacation is more than enough.

Watches, rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, pins.......What are those? :confused3

I'm in the Zman camp on the packing thing! :thumbsup2 I can do it in an hour, 45 minutes with some good coffee and music!

Oh I hear you on the "accident" thing. My mother instilled that in me as well and I always pack more than I need in the underwear/socks/tshirts department.

However, I have to agree with the people teasing you on the one pair of shoes thing... I always travel with 6 or 7 pairs of various foot wear. Sneakers, club shoes/boots, dressy shoes, fancy shoes (if a fancy restaurant is in order), flip flops, dress sandals, and my running shoes so I can work out on vacation. OK, I may have exhausted myself typing that list, but to me it's essential to be prepared :)

On the flip side, I usually pack for a week long Disney trip the night before/morning of the flight. I just can't bring myself to do it early! I can have this abundance of clothing ready to go in 30 minutes tops.

That's why I stay at Disney resorts... makes it quick and easy to go back to the resort to freshen up and change before heading out for the night.
