Have any of you wondered why you bought in during the waiting period to your first trip to your home resort?

We bought in June and have a ressie in December, and I cannot help but wonder how much better SSR will be from POFQ. I loved that place!

I am sure once make it to our first trip all will be good, I guess it is that fear of the unknown.....

So, you never visited your home resort??

Kinda feeling that myself...we won't get to visit our "home" until May 08 and sometimes I wonder if I wouldn't be just as happy at staying in a regular room at CSR, Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom.

I believe when we get there, it will be all that we have imagined and more--it's disney, isn't it?

Visited, never stayed, that is the issue.

Really I just do not know exactly what I own since I have not spent time there yet, even though it is all paid up.

Remember you "own" all the DVC resorts so you can stay at other resorts over the many years of your ownership. Only challenge is if you go during peak season and need the home resort 11 month window to get the reservations you want.

We use to be huge Dixie Landings fan, I won't call it the other name, and have found that OKW gives a similar feeling. Our next favorite is BC, so BCV fits very well. Not a big BW fan, but if available and we want to be near Epcot then its great. Haven't done VWL yet, but we do love that theme, location isn't the greatest for us. SSR is new with a different level of activity and feel. I like the location, but haven't stayed in the rooms yet, have a ressie later this year. We ultimately bought at AKV for a variety of reasons, but will likely do a lot of DVC resort hopping based on our usage.

Don't worry, it will be all good!:thumbsup2 We had never stayed at a DVC resort before we bought in, other than a regular room at the WL, and since buying DVC we've stayed at VWL, OKW, BWV and VB and have loved them all! We'll be staying at SSR in April, and I'm really looking forward to finally trying out our "home". From all the wonderful reviews I've been reading, I'm sure we'll love it just as much as all the other DVC properties.

We sometimes stay at POFQ on weekend nights to save points, and we really enjoy it, but it doesn't hold a candle to the DVC!

I think you'll find you will be thrilled! I really enjoy POFQ, but it's nothing compared with the DVC resorts, PARTICULARLY if you've treated yourself to a one bedroom.

To me, that's where the DVC resorts REALLY shine. It's so nice after a long day at the parks to put the kids to bed (do you have kids?) and stretch out on the sofa with a nice glass of wine (or two or three).

Then in the morning, I can sit out on the balcony, with my coffee, relaxing. I can have a nice leisurely breakfast in the villa before we set out for the day.

Really, I think you'll be very happy. We sure have been for the last 11 years.

Thanks all, we are going to be in 2 bedroom for our trial run since we got double points plus the developer credit as incentives. Probably will be overly spoiled.

Peace

Write back after you go! We want a trip report!

Oh, you'll definitely be spoiled!:thumbsup2 Now that we've stayed in the 1 and 2 BRs I find it very difficult to settle for a studio! Enjoy!

You are going to fall in love with the two bedroom villas. They are sooo nice! Enjoy!
