Post pics of your bag you carry into park

Has anyone ever used the vera bradley mail bag in the parks (or anywhere else)? It seems similar to the hipster, the only things I noticed online is that it is slightly bigger & has a thinner strap.

I've never used the mailbag, but with the thinner strap, I'm afraid it would dig into my shoulder too much-- especially with the amount of stuff I would put into it!
I am, however, a HUGE VB hipster fan (original price $56)! I will be carrying the hipster in capri blue (I was pixie-dusted:wizard: by a Dis-er)
AAAADNcCnWQAAAAAABD7_g.png

I also have the cell phone holder in capri blue (for protection on water rides/being bumped around!), and the rectangular zip iD case in cupcakes pink to hold my KTTW and cash (I will not bring a CC or debit card into the parks-- way too dangerous for me!). The zip id will also protect my KTTW from coming in contact with my cell and de-magnitizing.
For my camera (Sony Cybershot), I have the VB "coin purse" in cupcakes pink. I was going to purchase the "tech case," but it's a bit small and the coin purse really works well.
I have such a hodgepodge of VB patterns! I am trying to phase out most colors and have an exclusive cupcakes pink collection-- I have the large duffel in addition to the coin purse and zip id. In addition to the capri blue cell case and hipster, I have the zip-around wallet in the same pattern. I have two other zip id cases-- in frankly scarlet and hope toile. A pinwheel pink coin purse used to hold my camera until it got a little too dirty-- but it really works well. Perhaps not as the best camera case for the tripod whielders, but definitely for us who love our point and shoots!
WHEW! Point of the overwinded history of my VB collection-- many VB can come in QUITE handy during a Disney vacation! I wish everything matched, but like I said, I will slowly be phasing things out and adding only cupcakes pink pieces.

We can't get VB bags in the UK :sad2:

Do any of the Malls in Orlando stock them?

I am still on the hunt for the perfect bag. We have a backpack that we take to Busch Gardens with us, but I think it's a bit big to stuff under our seats on the rides (at BG we don't worry about this, because we don't get to ride anything when the kids are with us). I've bought a soft-sided cooler to put under our double stroller, so we will pack our snacks, lunch, and water bottles in there. So basically what I will put in the park bag will be: extra change of clothes for our two kids, car keys, ID and debit/credit cards, travel-sized first aid kit with emergency meds, sunscreen, and my Blackberry. Do you think I need to worry about packing towels? I have a separate camera case, but if I had a handy pocket in my bag, I could put my point-and-shoot camera and my Flip videocamera in there as well, along with extra batteries & memory cards.

I thought I found the perfect bag at Target the other day. It had lots of different pockets, a nice roomy main pocket, and it was only $30! They only had pink in stock, which I didn't think DH would enjoy wearing, so I came home to look online, and it had terrible reviews! I was so bummed. :sad2:

So, the search continues...

I hope this is the end to the search for the perfect bag. :rotfl: This is the one I have finally decided on. http://www.kipling-usa.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2993407&kw=lancelot&sr=1&origkw=lancelot I found it today at TJMaxx for $30 in the juicy pink. The size is perfect for what I need it to hold: camera, cellphone, sunscreen, kttw cards, money, autograph book and pen. It is made of water resistant nylon and can be worn crossbody or over the shoulder. Has anybody ever used a Kipling before? I will keep my fingers crossed that it does the job. Only 16 more days and I can try it out!!! :cool1:

:lmao: I need opinions, please. I have mini-hipster on the way (had to have one after all the rave reviews). I want to travel light for our September trip (no kids). But I also want a larger bag just in case. So I have been determined to get a Overland Equipment 'Donner'. BUT the other day I stumbled across this bag at the thrift store while I was looking for something for camping...

It's like this. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,82196_Ameribag-Microfiber-Healthy-Back-Bag-Small.html also green, microsuade? for $8.00

How exactly do you wear this? I'd like to wear it as a messenger bag, does that look wierd? Those of you that have one, is it functional? Can I spray the microsuade with water repellent? I like all the pockets it has. I know it's smaller than the 'Donner' but would it work. Are they comfortable in the long run?

Help for a bag addict, please and thank you!!! :confused3

Not sure if it's been mentioned above, but we all carry backpacks (even kids 6 & 10yo) with camelbaks in them. Everyone has their own water supply. Fill it with water, then add powder drink packets (lemonade usually). Everyone stays hydrated and has a place for their raincoat or purchases. On rides, we just put them under our feet, or move them to the front of us, or one person may wait out (me usually, can't take the big rides) holding them all. Good luck!

Please report back after your trip. This is my top contender for the perfect bag...I'm afraid it may be a little large for my needs; just me and DH, no kids. Have a great trip!

I carried an AmeriBag for years! It is my all-time favorite bag. I love the configuration and multiple pockets. I do not carry this bag to Disney - unless I'm storing it for the day in a locker. IMO it's a great shoulder bag, though I would not carry it cross-body. The price is outstanding for this bag and even if you don't take it to Disney, it would be a wonderful every-day bag. I prefer the distressed nylon fabric over the microsuede. :)

I totally agree with this. I also use an AmeriBag Healthy Back bag as my every day purse, and have for years! I would never wear it cross-body, and I find the small is even too large for a WDW bag. But it is the only purse I've carried for YEARS! I also have a mesh AmeriBag that I use as a Beach bag, and as a backpack substitute if I'm not carrying too much stuff...

~I bought my bag from Target for $10. We have always in the past done the backpack but it gets real old carrying that around. We don't have small children so we just need something for my camera, room keys, sunscreen and small misc. We get the free water in the park and bring crystal light. For breakfast we eat it on the way so I don't need to store any snacks. It is so much easier to have your hands free. ~ :)

To all you Vera mini-hipster fans, do you "treat" your bags with anything like Scotchgard or something to make the cloth a little bit water repellent?

I'm seriously thinking about trying a VB mini-hipster from all of the rave reviews on this board, but I am concerned that the fabric might get dirty or water damaged after a trip to the parks!

Thank you for the help & for feeding my bag obsession! :thumbsup2

There is no way a VB bag would have survived our trip to Disney last summer. We were there during Tropical Storm Faye and it poured. I had a water resistant Bagallini bag with me and it got wet enough. I do love my VB bags tho ... have quite a few but I just don't take them along when I'm not certain what the weather will be.

I'm also interested in knowing if the Kipling Lancelot Flap Bag can be worn crossbody ... it's noted as a sholder bag on luggagepros website (looks like they have 20% off until tomorrow). I'm really liking the looks of this bag.

Hi Lynn, Yes it can be worn crossbody. I purchased it because I am not a fan of crossbody bags, most hang rather oddly on me. That being said, I have tried this one both ways (over shoulder and crossbody) and I don't have a problem with the way this one hangs on me when worn crossbody. I figure I will probably wear it both ways depending on what we are doing at the time. So far I love it! :thumbsup2

thank you both...back to the WDW 'perfect' bag drawing board :rotfl2:

still debating the Donner bag from Overland Equipment but they look so big on the mannequins in the pictures. They sound perfect from all the reviews. I've seen ones that have velcro, magnet or buckle closures on the flaps, any preferences out there?

Sierra Trading Post has the Overland Donner for $22.00. I purchased one. Once I had it, it really was too big for me and I returned it.

Use caution with bags with magnetic closure. I had an Ameribag Rifton Microfiber. The size and configuration were perfect for me. Unfortunately the flap had a magnetic closure. I had 3 park passes issued to me in 3 days. One of the attendants finally said it was my magnetic closures that was de-activating the passes and wouldn't allow them to be read.

I much prefer the Placer over the Donner, but I take the minimum, so it might be too small for you. The Donner was too big for me, and I also returned it. Overland Equipment used to have the Loie style which was between the two, but I think they quit making it.

My current favorite is the Vera Bradley Libby. They are a great deal right now because they have been discontinued.

I like the bagallinni small wallet. I got it in black and it's much bigger than expected actually. (I am going to try to post a picture of it with stuff inside later.) There's a few zippered compartments inside and one outside. The inside is big enough for money, credit cards, small camera, sunglasses, lip stick/lip gloss, and some other small items. You can wear it like a purse or around your waist. I give this bag four Mickey's because it will be great for Disney (especially DTD or a night out to dinner) and life outside of Disney (baseball games, concerts, etc.) ::MickeyMo::MickeyMo::MickeyMo::MickeyMo

Any more reports or pics on this bag? I looked for pics of it but very well could of missed them.
