Post Katrina Biloxi and Gulfport Sad!!!

Wow, so sad, We flew down to Mobile AL and then to a wedding in Mississippi and we drove done Route 90 from Ocean Spring then around the damaged bridge and then along Biloxo and Gulfport. I have seen the damage on TV and on the Web but in person its so awful and sad. So many homes wiped out for blocks and blocks, miles and miles of nothing but damage. Most of the Casinos and hotels and restaurants are all gone. They do have a few hotels opening on the beach in August a nice MGM Casino Beau Rivard looks awesome.

Yes, we drove through the area last month. Almost scary, and no one seems to be reporting that the area is still extremely devasted.

It will be that way for a few years to come too...you should see how parts of Perdido Key where Ivan came thru in Sept of 04 are still bare.... thanks to insurance companies denying claims and dragging their feet when it comes to paying off on claims. Most people will have to go to court to see any money... and so they have to wait before they can rebuild. It's sad.
