Being a male, I'm give you my opinion of a great stay and what I hate...........first of all, I do not like schedules......nothing worse than being on a clock.....we got to be here, we got to be there.....food at this place at this time. I'll eat when I'm hungry. My second big deal, I can only eat so much restaurant food...hence, we make a grocery stop in route and load up on sandwich fixings and snacks plus beverages. Nothing better than making a couple of home made sandwiches, filling the cooler with beer and relaxing at the pool during the heat of the day. Finally, parks....I'm not one to live and die, opening to close in a park. Early morning is the best time for me....early riser and ready to go after a full breakfast (important meal for me) then do the parks as the attractions come and book out noonish when the heats up and the parks are quite full. Pool picnic time! Relax, no chasing to other resorts to gawk or shop, lounge around the pool and enjoy then I'm ready for an evening of parks again, love the fireworks at EPCOT and MK, then pool at the resort late at night, couple glasses of wine (grocery stop purchase again) and beach movie then bed.
I'm a simple man, like simple pleasures and being at easy and fly by the seat of my pants. Vacations aren't a marathon, don't want to try to get everything done, heck if we miss a park, who cares! We're coming back. We've done 43 trips so far all on this premise and no objections from wife, if she wants to shop, she goes to DTD by herself. I'll make DTD one night when we visit POFQ, for meatball sandwiches and Scat Cat Club entertainment. We'll boat from there to DTD, make a walk thru, maybe a movie and then bus back to our resort.
That's it in a nutshell ( rather big nutshell ) but that's what keeps me happy...free time....lounging...and going at a relaxed, leisurely pace and enjoying the surroundings and atmosphere in WDW. Just one married man's opinion.
