ok, weird question I know but I'm hoping my parents will join us on our Nov trip. I want to treat them to both Hoop and Luau and of course I will be pre-paying w/ cc but is there any point that they could see the price posted somewhere, on menus, on tix, or at entrance or anything? I really want it to be a gift to them and I'm sure they would balk and try to give me money if they saw the outrageous price I'd be paying. anybody know:confused3 Do I just pick up the tickets at our resort (poly)?
I'm the big planner so I know hubby and my parents would have no clue about getting online and checking or anything like that. They are leaving it all up to me:cool2: but I want everyone to have fun and not worry about how much everything costs.

I don't think you have to worry too much. I cannot speak about the Luau, but we've been to HDDR several times. You will not have tickets. You make an ADR and give your credit card # as a guarantee. You will check in at the podium outside the show before you enter, just as you would for any TS dinner. The dinner show is prix fixe, and a set menu. The only menu I recall was for drinks, but I'm not positive about this. Perhaps some of the other Disers have a more accurate memory than I do at the moment:confused3 I believe there is an additional charge for certain alcoholic beverages.

At the end of the meal you will be given the bill (you could discretely arrange when you are seated for the bill to be presented only to you). The only way anyone need know how much it costs would be if the dining plan was involved, because your parents would be each charged 2 TS credits . But I get the feeling that this will be an OOP treat.

I'm assuming that the Luau arrangements would be similar.

I hope everyone enjoys this lovely gift you are giving them. And really, when you consider that it is an all you can eat (and drink) meal plus a dinner show, I really don't think the price is outrageous. Enjoy!!:cool1:

:) I am treating my parents to MNSSHP this year--they have no idea how much the tickets are and do not have a computer. Just don't say anything and when the ticket comes you just take care of it. I do not remember the pricing being anywhere. You do get beer with your dinner included if you want at HDDR. There is more info on this here and at Allears.

1) You need to pick up the tickets and present them yourself.
2) I believe the tix have the prices on them.

This is how I remember it being. OP, just pick up the tickets yourself and check-in all together as a group, never giving anyone else a ticket.
