I am assuming the answer is 'no'- but I wondered if there was a remote possibility of doing this.... not just change the name, change the passenger.... Southwest is great, but probably not, right?

This is not possible on any airline. You'll have to cancel the ticket and that passenger will get a credit in their name.

Depends was the ticket purchase with cash or SWA points? If with points yes you can but you will have to cancel the first ticket (the points will be deposited back into the SWA RR acct that they came from) and rebook and pay the price difference if there is one.

If cash, though, only the original passenger can Redbook and fly on the cancelled funds - until they expire a year from purchase. Then you can pay ($50?) for an extension that can be booked by anyone.

It is now ... $100.00 for a extension after the funds expire.

IIRC ... it was at one time *free* then it went to $25.00 - $50.00 - $75.00 - $100.00

that's what I figured.... ah well no worries.... prices on airlines change so fast anyway....
