Possible October Trip - Need Help

So, my DH started looking at a possible trip in October. We are thinking of being in the parks September 30 - October 4. I have the usual questions about how crowded will it be and what is the weather like. I know the weekend will be busy, but what about Thursday and Monday. We have only gone to Disney in April after the Easter holiday and the crowds have been really low. Any other thoughts good or bad about going this time of year? Thanks so much for your help. This trip was just a random thought from my DH and since it is completely unlike him to even suggest going, I thought I would get more information to convince him he had a great idea!

I will be in the parks at that exact same time too. Dont forget that the friday is the first night for the halloween party and its also Gay Days that weekend. So I assume it will be very busy.

Thanks for the information. Definitely things to keep in mind in terms of crowds. Is there a place that lists what is going on each weekend? Is it just on the Disney site? Since we haven't had to deal with crowds before maybe the next week might be better. We are trying to plan over my daughter's Fall break and husband's teaching schedule. Thanks again!

Happy Planning! This is a wonderful time to go! We went almost those exact dates 2 years ago and we are planning a trip 9/25-10/2 this year also! The Halloween Time is fun, decorations are so cool and crowds were tolerable when we went. We did the Mickey's Halloween Trick-or-Treat party when it was at DCA, fun and lots of candy! The temps are perfect at this time since it can get HOT during the day and cool at night (perfect for buying a new DL sweatshirt ) I would say that our weekdays were much less crowded and like PP said we have the first MHP and Gay Days that weekend. It shouldn't be unbearable though, but just to keep in mind. Your Thurs and Mon should be GREAT!
Unfortunately it is difficult to plan because DLR doesn't post schedules very far in advance. Here is the link to the calendar: however I am certain this will change also as we get closer to the Fall.

I love Disneyland at this time of year! The weather is usually perfect, and the crowds mild. We are going the very next week....we usually go in October, even the weekends are not to crowded!

Thank you so much for the help! The links are perfect. I'm so use to planning for a late Spring trip that Fall has me totally lost! Next to Christmas, Halloween is my DD and DSs favorite holiday so seeing Disneyland with all the decorations would be awesome. Oh planning a trip is just way too much fun!

That week is a perfect time to go. We went last year from Sun-Fri, Sept 27 to Oct 2, 2009. It was great! Low crowds, good weather, short lines. You'll love it. Have fun!

ETA - But be aware that the first weekend of Oct is generally Gay Days at DL, which brings in the crowds. If you want to avoid the crowds, plan to leave by Friday Oct 1.
