After going through my twitter feed I stumbled upon a tweet from touringplans.com with some new photos on the Harry potter expansion. I went through the photos and at the bottom it said a unnamed source has leaked some possible information on blueprints for the expansion and some blueprints of what the ride vehicles would look like. Finally after all the Harry potter it said they released some possible blueprints for an upcoming resort to overtake the area where River Country is. The resorts name is supposedly wilderness way resort and it did not say whether it would be a DVC resort or a new resort all together. I know it has been rumored for a long time that a new resort or DVC resort of some sort was to replace the old river country. I think it's time Disney did something with the abandon water park as it just sits there and decays. Will it be a DVC resort? Will it be an expansion of the wilderness resort? Will it be a new resort completely?

There are multiple photos in here showing the proposed resort.
It seems to be that some one is leaking all these photos and several others on a single twitter account.

There have been rumors for several years that Disney is planning another DVC resort in the Wilderness Lodge/Fort Wilderness Campground area.

Now that construction of the Poly DVC is underway, maybe Disney is finalizing plans for next DVC near WL.

According to one of the schematics, it says "DVC Bus Stop". Unfortunately, the images aren't high-res enough to zoom in on the room layouts to determine the type of rooms.

As the plans are just over 2 years old now, anyone have any idea how long it took to go from plans to construction for Poly? Were those plans ever leaked?

Exactly but now Disney supposedly has plans ready to go

I do remember a while back seeing plans of leaked bungalow at the poly which is part of the DVC expansion but it couldn't have been more than a year ago. So that would mean by that we could see construction start next year possibly but I'm not so sure about that.

I also noticed plans for a new Winnie the Pooh area in fantasyland but they were not specific to Disneyland or WDW. Several blueprint leaks were also on their for the Harry potter expansion in universal.

Interesting info from an old thread. Towards the bottom it speaks of the DVC rumor and plans.

Sorry, can't get the link to work. Will try again.

OK try this. Was in a post by TBoss68 back on July 2, 2013. I remember seeing the plans for the DVC portion in previous posts. http://www.disneydrawingboard.com/WDW/MKArea/Wilderness%20Junction/WildernessJunction.html
Very interesting the plans are from 1990 and they are very similar. So it really has been rumored for a long time but will we actually now see it is the major question. I want to see it happen but still don't know if it will happen. It's also been rumored that after the DVC poly construction happening now that river country was next on the list. I really wish disney would so something with river country instead of them letting it rot like it is so I hope these rumors are true.

When the plans are publically filed with the south Florida water management district (I think that's the proper bureaucracy)...then it's a go.

That has been the harbinger of the last 5 or so built properties...and probably more before that nobody caught on to

As Vandy posted, the 2010 plans were the ones being talked about at the Camping forum a year or 2 ago.

The big difference with the 2010 and the others seem to be that the 2010 site is further west/closer to WL. In addition they had a over the water wing like they are building at the poly.

Seeing a train station, I do love the idea of them putting in the narrow gauge(hopefully Steam) railroad again.:thumbsup2

Like the idea, but it needs a new name. There are already too many resorts with Wilderness in the name, yes 2 is too many. Staying at the Wilderness lodge this past trip I heard too many people confuse it with Fort Wilderness, adding another Wilderness would only add to the confusion! I like the idea of keeping the three resorts tied in but I think a different name would be better.

Maybe they could make it another moderate rather than a deluxe/DVC. Since it is out in the "country", perhaps they could link it with eco-friendliness and nature themes? Or do Avatar themed rooms, lol!

No need for moderates...and no desire from management to build thrm

Something else Disney should consider if they want to go in this direction is adding more campsites to FW.

For starters, campsites are very little points for DVC members. Also, RV sales were up 30% last year and it is becoming a more popular way to vacation again. Disney should look in to that more and see about DVC campsites or just more regular campsites!

BLT and the new Poly construction gives me the impression that DVC is the future planning as far as on site resorts go...at least in the near future. Management can't see the value in Moderates so those really aren't going to be an option for awhile. Value and Deluxe are the way to go from here on out (excluding DVC). Given all the recent purchases Disney has made in the past few years some projects had to take a back seat just from a financial perspective. Don't think for one second that they won't put a DVC in the Wilderness Resort area....in the end DVC = lots of $$$.

There aren't any "DVC campsites". DVC members (at least those without restricted resale contracts) can "trade out" to reserve campground sites via the Disney Collection, just like they can trade out and get a regular room at the Poly. And given that they don't cost much as it is, it doesn't seem necessary to create "DVC campsites". :)

Other than AoA, Disney hasn't built an all-new resort since Pop Century - and AoA was really a modified re-theming of the abandoned second-half of POP. But since 2000, all the new resort rooms built at WDW were for DVC, except for Animal Kingdom Lodge and AOA: Villas at Wilderness Lodge, AKL, Beach Club Villas, POP, Saratoga Springs (rebuilt from Disney Institute plus new buildings), Animal Kingdom Villas (rebuilt from part of Animal Kingdom Lodge, plus new building), Treehouse Villas at SSR (rebuilt from original Treehouse villas), Bay Lake Tower (built on former CR North Wing), AoA, and Grand Floridian Villas.

That's a lot of DVC rooms vs. standard rooms. And it's fair to say that will continue. If a new "regular" resort is built, it will almost certainly have a DVC component.

DVC _needs_ to keep building for the revenue model to continue. If they stop, they will not have inventory to sell.

I didn't eimply that they were already DVC campsites, please reread what I said. I know how points work and how DVC members can get a campsite for there stay.
