The answer to your question is yes and no. It was discussed as part of a previous thread (which had the concept art) - but Al's Toy Barn originally was included in the design but later removed. For the reason mentioned earlier - it doesn't fit the backyard theme.
No fears, however, about a gift shop - Disney isn't about to build a themed land aimed at kids without stuffing it to the brim with merchandising. That's true even for the more "adult" lands: Pandora's gift shop is heavily dedicated to the rookery for those $50 banshees that sit on your shoulder - even though a good number of the kids that'll get the most out of those may not even be tall enough to go on the signature ride where they're featured.
