Positive Feedback?

DeeCee, Thank you for saying something, I was about to. Can't believe the negativity (probably get flamed).
We have never had a less than magical experience, in all the years we have visited WDW, staying in either DVC resorts or non-DVC resorts. Nothing is ever perfect.
I think the negative posts get more attention and the positive ones are glossed over.

Maybe it's just because it's hard to think of much to reply to in a positive post - you can say, that's terrific, glad it went well, or whatever, but then it's over. Whereas in the negative... well, there's stuff to debate about and fight over, and take sides - it's the endless party. I think that's why you see so much more on the negative.

Since I like to gather information here, though, I do think it would be great to have the positive as well. Otherwise, we'd think every resort was completely falling apart and run by people who'd rather shoot us than check us in.

:Pinkbounc You should see my post on the DVC board "I just had to post". It looks like we agree about all the negatives here. We love DVC and have never had any real problems that couldn't be fixed quickly. We love everything about WDW and DVC. I will post positives when I get home after my May trip. Let's see if we can start a positive post that is long as the negative one.

Hmmm, are you suggesting that some of the posters weren't smart enough to appreciate your subtle humor? That's pretty negative....

 :rolleyes1

Hmmmmm.....

1. I too am guilty of not posting a lot of positives. It's tough to do so during a WDW/DVC trip, though, because there are just so many good things happening!

2. As WDW/DVC fanatics - just like fans of anything else - we tend to focus more on the little things and the details.

3. In some cases, the negatives have a er, positive value; a warning, or a heads-up, can be helpful. For example, over on the Theme Parks board, there's a discussion about the fact that biometrics are used for all MYW passes now. The comments are pretty negative, but it was useful to know that, on busy days, the lines back up; so we might want to arrive a little earlier. In DVC-land, I now know to leave the "Do Not Disturb" sign out on our last night, to ward off any over-zealous Mousekeepers. ;)

ETA: 4. Sometimes, when folks here are vocally supportive of DVC and Disney, they get labelled as :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: .

Advice to the OP: Learn that the comments here, while often valid, should be taken with an industrial-sized grain of salt; and never, ever let them affect your wonderful WDW vacation!

Be well.

If you're really brave and don't mind getting blasted, you can tell them that you're really sorry (tongue in cheek) about their terrible time and ask them to please share something positive. I do and usually get flamed, but it cheers me up. My students call me the the Dr. Phil of our school because I tell it like it is whether people want to hear it or not.

Actually the other way around.....
