Hi all,

I know this has probably been asked (a lot!) before, but which is better? Looking for good location, pool, and similar amenities. It will just be me and my two children - ages 15 and 9. Leaning towards the Royal Pacific but just want input. We will be there for 4 nights, heading over to Disney for a day trip one of the days.

Typically on theme park visits we go into the park early, head back to the hotel to swim/relax mid day, then go back into the park in the evening.

Thanks in advance for the input.

:)

We haven't stayed at Portofino yet. We are hooked on Hard Rock. Although our first trip to US/IOA we stayed at RPR and LOVED IT!!! It is a beautiful hotel. The only reason we haven't been back is because my kids like to walk the trail to Universal from HRH and they love the pool. You can pool hop to any hotel onsite. If RPR is cheaper...then save your money and stay there. You won't be disappointed with any of the onsite hotels. They are great!

All of the hotels are within walking distance. HRH is closest to Universal Studio and RPR is closest to Islands of Adventure. Portofino is an additional 5 minutes walk than HRH. All hotels have great pools and similar amenities. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I agree -- you can't go wrong. RPR probably has the best location... but I think PBH has the best theme/amenities/rooms/etc.

We love RPR ,actually our fav, but love PBH as well, but it was just to quiet around the pools for DD as there was nothing really going on at them, they where supposed to be pool games about every 30 mins in summer, but i think 3 games at the pool from 11 am till 7, so we will prob have to give PBH a miss till we are going on our own

We've stayed at both and I think for kids Royal Pacific would be better. Actually we prefer RPR ourself and we are traveling without kids! I think the theming would be more fun for kids at RPR and the walk is definitely shorter but I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I agree with kids RPR hands down a great choice! The pool is great!

Also if you like sushi they have an amazing selection!!!!
