Portofino hotel Kids Suite?

So has anyone tried this hotel? We are not concerned about being close enough to walk to the park. The kids suite rooms look nice. Let me know what ya think.

We may be staying here next April, so no personal experience yet.

But, did you check out the reviews on TripAdvisor? Seems to be really good reviews compared to some of the other nearby hotels with the same lay-outs. I've been doing a ton of hotel research, and I have it narrowed down to Portofino and one other. I have read that Portofino is within walking distance, too. We plan on walking everyday; but, then again, we don't have kids - we'll just be traveling with adults.

We stayed there in a kids suite a couple of years ago. This is not a fancy hotel. It is a nice room with bunkbeds for the kids. I would check out the room earlier in the day and make sure all of the beds are comfortable enough to sleep on. We didn't check the sofa bed until midnight and it was impossible to sleep on. There were springs sticking up all over.
Also, the doors to the rear of the hotel had broken locks and were not secure. I would ask reservations to make sure that all of the exterior hallway doors are secure and the locks are not broken. The police were out in the back lot dealing with an issue when we came back one night - with the exterior doors not locked I was not happy. I was traveling alone with my children (hubby had to work) and felt insecure.
I would not choose to walk from this hotel. It is quite a ways down the street from the entrance. I would use ART for sure!
