Port upgrade from 1 Verandah room to 2 adjoining

We currently have a single CAT5B and sailing in 12 days, and was hoping due to reduced capacity that we could do a port upgrade.
This is our first Disney Cruise so we aren't well versed in DCL.

Looking to go to CAT4 Deluxe Family or adjoining CAT4 or 5 rooms.
Is this a huge leap?

You can upgrade your existing room to a higher category, but you can't add an extra room without making a new reservation.
