You can if you valet it, which of course is an extra charge.

True, I forgot to mention that. As you say, it's a fully legitimate way to leave your car at a resort while you visit one of the parks (don't forget you'll need to add a tip).

I'm considering trying POR again after one stay 10 years ago. I just remember the resort feeling "huge". We love POFQ, but extended family doesn't like the food court. So, we're thinking of POR for this trip.

I have a few questions:

Is the pool slide bigger/longer than the one at POFQ? This is a very important question for a 6yo :rotfl2:

Regarding the buses, I'm so spoiled by the one stop at POFQ, any tips for POR? I read on Andre's site (which is fabulous!) that prior to 10:30 am the South station DOES NOT make the loop around the resort, but goes directly to the parks. Is this still correct?

Are the rooms in AB all for parties of 5 or more? We DO NOT want to be in AB and was hoping by default we would not be placed there. I'm a mansion kinda girl princess:

For those with coffee questions, I've been researching the coffee pods, I've found Melita brand in my local grocery store to be compatible. 16 pods for $5.59.

Thanks for all the wonderful information! You guys are really convincing me to give POR another try!

All of the AB rooms can accommodate 5 people plus a child under 3, but that doesn't mean they're reserved for parties of 5. I've stayed at POR twice as a solo (once way back when it was called Dixie Landings) and got AB both times, the second time by request. If you want the mansions, you should request it, just remember that requests aren't guaranteed.

The slide POR is twice as long.

Buses vary considerably, especially now that the routes have been varied so some parks go to the South Depot first, while others do the outer stops first. I'm not 100% sure whether the 10:30am rule still applies, however even if you do the outer circle it normally only takes 8 minutes extra.

There are more AB rooms than mansions, so I guess you are actually more likely to get an AB room by random chance (unless you book a Royal Room anyway). Put in a request for a mansion building room to improve your chances.

I tried to search this thread but didn't find the answer I was looking for.

Can anyone tell me the route the Carriage Ride takes? I've read it only goes to FQ and back. Does it not cross over to the Plantation Homes? A trip around the entire resort would be nice.

To add to the coffee pot questions..

Can I just brew some hot water?
My daughter likes oatmeal in the morning, and it just easy to make to for her..( she is picky on how it's made)
All I need is some hot water..

I haven't used the exact machines at POR yet, but we used similar ones at the Dolphin last summer, and I used them for this exact purpose as well. I just put water in the tank, didn't put in a coffee pod, and turned on the machine. It ran hot water through and into the cup and then I poured it on my oatmeal :thumbsup2 Just make sure you only put in the exact amount of water you need or your cup will overflow. If they're like the ones at the Dolphin, they just keep running until the water tank is empty. Found that one out the hard way :rolleyes1

You can choose, around POR and past the mansion buildings, or over to POFQ and back.

Perfect! Any other advice for early morning in room breakfast would be very helpful... :-)

Regarding the coffee pots... you may want to wash the pod holder before you pass hot water through it as it may have a lingering coffee taste to it. (If possible, don't even use the pod holder. I don't know how that one works if it will spill all over the place tho)

Good question...
I know with a old style coffee pot, you can just leave off the flitter part..

If not i will make sure its cleaned out 1st.. Trust me my DD does not need any add caffeine ;-)

Thanks for the great advice..

Thanks.....great picture too! Hmmm, so we have to choose one or the other? Guess we'll have to decide that when we get there. Thanks again.

The carriage we had in August did not have a canopy on it like in Andre's pic. Don't know if that makes a difference. We took the POFQ ride. It was nice though a little bumpy. We only did it because it was kids first trip.

I'm a little scared to ask, but what's the price?

"Hijacking Coffee Talk to change the subject" :rolleyes1 :)

So tell me about the entertainment at POR. I hear there is a band or a musician or something. Not sure. What different entertainment is there and when and where do we find them.:wave2:

Yeeha Bob does a show in the lounge starting around 8:30pm Weds thru Sat. It is suitable for families. DH and I catch it on all our trips.
