When we stayed at AKL and WL there was a toaster at the condiment station that I saw people use for their own bread and bagels.

Is there one at POR and is it for use by anyone (I'm trying to figure out why someone would need it if they were purchasing cooked food)

Yes there is. You can buy slices of bread, or bagels, etc in the food court and then toast them if you wish. Or even buy a loaf of bread at the hotel shop and then make toast I guess.

Thank you so much for the quick response!! Now I know I can add bagels and butter to the grocery list.

You have no idea how much that is true. I had a very not so fun experience I will be sharing with my Trip Report once we have returned to our normal day to day. People who have easily disgusted stomachs do not read. I head back into the work circle of life on the 9th but I will post sometime that week after.

I'll put it this way. We are not at POR now and our Vacation isn't up til the 9th!

I lurk in this awesome thread and my heart just sank for you Venom. You are so helpful here and to read something so UNmagical has happened that you had to move to another property...ugh. It just makes me sad.

I hope all is well now and you're able to enjoy the rest of your trip. Sending you some extra pixie dust! pixiedust:

OK, so in my heart I guess I knew a week's break in mid-February 2013 really wasn't going to tide me over until late 2014...

... so I've just booked two weeks in August! It had to be the first two weeks unfortunately due to work commitments (I much prefer the last two weeks) but hey, it's Port Orleans so any time is good!

So just 144 days to go. :dance3:

And Be Our Guest is already booked solid for Dinner every day. :(

That's terrible! So sorry this happened to you. I will anxiously await your report as I know it must have been something awful to drive you away from POR.

What do you all do about trip insurance? I am thinking of going through insuremytrip.com and getting a basic plan for peace of mind. They seem to run about $100 for my whole family.

I really hope the food poisoning didn't end up turning into the stomach bug for everyone but that's my guess. Hope you are all feeling better-how disappointing!

We're probably going the first week of August, and yeah...I keep checking BOG though, thinking there could be a cancellation? Haha...right...

BOG has been booked up ever since I booked my July trip. I gave up, and decided on lunch after reading someone's review saying lunch was better.

P.S.....just figured out I'll be 6 and a half months pregnant....in JULY....in FLORIDA....geeze. I added close to the main building on my room reservation so I don't have to walk terribly far. Hopefully it'll work, lol. No rides for me!

We're planning on BOG for lunch because the menu just looked more appealing than dinner. We did get a peek inside when were at WDW in October. The night we went to MNSSHP, they opened part of the new Fantasyland and were allowing people to view part of BoG. There were actually people dining too. I can't remember if that was part of an AP holders special or cast members or something else, but it was pretty awesome to just see the place.

May 26 - June 1, POR here we come (tried this last year but had to cancel due to DS medical issues and surgery). So we try again this year, put requests in for Mansion rooms, adjoining, top floor rooms. We paid for standard and if we get pixie dust for garden or river, then so be it. But whatever we have we'll be happy because we are in Disney.

I am nervous now, should we not go to POR? I have been to POFQ before and it was fine.:confused3

Why would you not stay at POR because venomhatch's little girl got food poisoning from eating at Be Our Guest?:confused3

I now see that something must have happened at POR also, so please disregard my above comment.

I hope your daughter is feeling much better now and enjoying herself!

This is toward all those replies. One dinner doesn't come with an RFID rose, I didn't see any being handed out during lunch either. Two it will be a long time before any of us eat at BOG again just because of our experience. I am still going to follow POR but questionable if we will stay there again. It was a nice touch with beast signing autographs at the end of BOG dinner. We were in west wing which I liked. It was more intimate and not so many tables crammed together like the grand ballroom. More to come.

Oh and the little one's recovery she just got back to 100% yesterday from BOG!

In about three days ill be publishing my report read and then decide your destination. Other than room isolated issues and food poisoning at BOG, the rest of the resort was beautiful.

Ok, I owe the rest of my $$$ for our trip in a few days at our 45 day mark and am now worried. Venom hatch has been so kind and helpful to all of us that I just can't believe there were issues at the resort. If anything I would think the resort would go above and beyond to make his trip awesome. I certainly hope they went out of their way to fix the issues and I pray you ended up moving to a really great resort so you can finish your vacation. Problem being I don't know where I would change to. CSR booked for our week and CBR doesn't appeal. Guess we will hope for the best.
