I have POR booked, but am considering changing to FQ. I looked at the pictures of both rooms and grounds and liked the look of the Mansions best. I recently read that the bus picks up/drops off first at the FQ. I'm also a little concerned that I would be put in the Alligator Bayou instead of the Mansions. Is the bus service enough to change our ressie? We will be switching from CR on Sunday afternoon and checking out Tuesday afternoon. On Monday we will be leaving for the parks in the morning, returning for an afternoon break/nap and then heading back to the parks in the evening.

No, I would not change my reservation over the bus. But, I will tell you the POFQ buses seemed to be less full in the evening leaving the park, in fact, one night we took a POFQ bus and took the boat to POR. It worked out very well.

POFQ buses pick up first and drop off first. It would be worth it to me to change to POFQ - I'd be too worried about getting stuck in AB and the bus issue!

We stayed at POR in September and if I remember correctly, the buses we took to and from the parks were solely for POR guests. There was a separate bus for the POFQ guests.

And, JMO...we stayed in AB at POR and loved it. I like the outside "look" of the mansions too but AB was just as nice as the mansion rooms....just my $0.02

I stayed at POFQ in October and loved, loved, loved it. I don't know if they combine the busses for POR and POFQ during the slower months but I know that they picked up at POFQ first and dropped off at POFQ first.

Some friends of ours were staying at POR at the same time and we called to tell them we just got on the bus to EPCOT. Imagine our surprise when the bus continued all the way to EPCOT and didn't even stop at POR. I am not sure why this happened because the bus wasn't full.

The reason I would rather stay at POFQ is that the resort is much smaller and there isn't as much walking to the main buildings/bus stops. Hope this helps.

I have to say that it never occurred to me to change a ressie because of what amounts to maybe a 2- or 3-minute difference in travelling. If it's much more than that I'd be very surprised. You can request a particular building & I've never known anyone not get their request (travelling not peak season, anyway -- don't know anyone who travels peak season). Have a great time.

We have stayed in the POFQ twice (once during Easter Break and once this past August).

The shared buses pickup and drop off POFQ first.

We did see times (especially in the am when they ran separate bises since POFQ had filled it.

We have never stayed in POR - we love the FQ but I would not switch because of the buses. The biggest risk is having to stand.

 We have stayed at POR four times, and the buses always picked up the POFQ folks first. If the bus filled at POFQ, then the bus would not even make the other POR stops. This happened to us in May on Early Entry Mornings...very frustrating! I love POR but the POFQ guests do get a better bus deal IMHO.

We stayed at FQ in May and found that sometimes we were first, or Riverside had it's own bus. I know I thought it was great to often be the first to get off- or on, after staying at CBR where we usually waiting forever, busses passed us that were full and we had to stop at 4 other stops before getting out of our resort, or off the bus.

Switching from POR or FQ probably isn't a huge difference, vrs Carribean Beach to Port Orleans. Know what I mean?

We stayed here two weeks ago, and yes, the buses do pick up and drop off at the French Quarter first. We always stopped at all of the POR stops in the morning, and by the time we go to the last stop at Riverside, it was standing room only! It was great to be dropped off first also in the evenings. I have stayed at both POFQ and POR, and even putting the bus issue aside, I like the French Quarter better!!! :D

You might want to post your question on the Transportation Board to get Tyler's view on this. We've stayed at both POR and POFQ several times and at different times of the year. The bus service has always been quite good. I believe they put extra busses in operation as demand requires and sometimes the bus heads straight for POR without the usual POFQ stop.

I would not change my reservation based on the bus service for this resort. Stay where you want to stay. BTW, AB is terrific. It is beautifully themed and if you're in buildings 14, 15 and over there, you're very near the main bus stop.

We stayed at POR twice and in the morning very often the buses that got to POR were completely empty! We were there in Sept and Oct and only had to stand once. On the way back from MGM in the middle of a HUGE and sudden downpour at closing. We stayed in the mansions and LOVED it! I wouldn't worry about it.
