We are staying at POR in January and I was wondering how the new food court is and what is there? I know it has been remodeled since we stayed there last. I was hoping for help on what is there now? Also do they still have the refillable mugs there? Thanks for your help!

I wasn't crazy about the food court there. We went one morning for breakfast and there was only 1 register open with about 20 people in line. That was enough for me.

We always stay at POR and it is mostly because dh likes the food court. When we were there in Feb it wasn't done so we are looking forward to checking it out this Feb. Enjoy

We like the food court. We had a few breakfasts there and everything was hot and delicious. The grits are delish. After the parks we would hit the fc and get some hamburgers or the pasta bar. By the way, the pasta bar food was really good. We got so much food that we could not finish our entrees.

Looks like the yummy taco salad and BBQ platter are gone...what a bummer because they were both delish!

It was nice...

Not too noisy.

In the morning I liked eating my breakfast there with a magazine ;)

It's okay, it's your average food court. I haven't been since the rehab but the menu seems to be the same.

We went in April 07 right after the refurb. No idea what is was like before, as that was our first POR stay

We really enjoyed POR and the food court..

Lots of places to sit and a game/tv area for the kids. Outdoors was nice. The selection was super. We did two b-fast there, and one dinner. They have beer/wine also. The grab and go snacks were a hit for our snack credits also.

The food court is great, it is one of the reasons we liked the resort. The food choices for dinner are great. Turkey and Roast for dinner. Also they had a great build your own pasta where you would choose your fresh ingredients and they would cook it for you. Great dessert selection. For Breakfast however, the place is a mad house and a place I would avoid if possible. The food is average and you can usually find a decent place in the parks, like mainstreet bakery!

We just came last week from our 6th stay at POR, our first since the food court was redone. We were a bit disappointed with the choices offered. We also miss the taco salad and nachos (although we were able to order them in the evening at the River Roost) and for some reason they have changed the way they cook their hamburgers. They used to be flame broiled but now they are cooked on a griddle (flat surface), which is okay, but they put a cover over the burger after they turn it, which effectively steams it!! Yuch! And the burger seems like it is much thinner than it was. We did eat breakfast there most mornings, which was okay.

I appreciate all the information. We have stayed here several times before but never with the new food court. I will miss my taco salad, that was my favorite!

We were @ Riverside over T-giving with the new food court...thought it was great. While they did change the food area & choices, they did not change the seating. It was busy, hectic @ peak times, as it always is. The improvements in the food was wonderful. Pasta was really good. They made omelets the same way...you personally select any/all ingredients and it was piping hot. We had our 5 yr. old granddaughter with us & they seemed to have added more healthy choices for kids as well...grapes, applesauce, fresh apple slices, & fresh carrot sticks choices....Husband had the hand carved roast beef, turkey platter & said it was excellent. I had a great mixed greens salad with beef - again hand selected ingredients. My son had huge chicken ceasar salad he really liked. We thought the "new" food was much better, more health conscious & fresh.

We stayed there in October and loved it! It was convenient, fast, and delicious. Would definitely eat there again if staying at POR.

We were there in September and ate at the FC almost every evening when
we came back from the parks and loved it.
Our favorites were the Create your own Pasta--Yummy!
also we enjoyed the Fried Fish Basket with French Fries.
I enjoyed sitting by the gears which are part of the large red
Water wheel--alot to look at.

I don't like food courts much, but even I liked the POR food course when I was there this past May. Very large, lots and lots of seating, tons of tables and chairs next to the large windows, etc.

I have some pictures of the refurbished food court on my web site, here's a link to the POR page:

Enjoy! :sunny:

Glad to hear good things about POR food court, we are doing 2 nts. room only there and spending one of the days at Sea World, we are probably going to eat at the food court that day.
