Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Room Request Fax Thread

I remember someone mentioning to not send a fax in on a Monday because it's busier. Is that good advice?

We arrive February 1st so I'm trying to decide what would be the best day to send my fax in. Any suggestions?

I say Tuesday or the Friday before the weekend. As long as you send it in the AM aka morning time.

As it happens it is good advice, although maybe not for the right reasons. Personally, I'd suggest avoiding Sunday and Monday if you are looking to chose any specific day. Just my $0.02 worth anyway, but it might help.

I agree...

Just to pop back in and say thank you again for the advice and pointers!

I faxed our room request on Monday morning Dec. 23 asking for Building 4 and voila, at check in on Jan. 1, we were in Building 4, in one of the few rooms ready at 2:30 that day. (The CM checking us in said they'd checked out 700 rooms that day! Poor Mousekeeping!)

I just wanted to say I love the two photos of your family!

The Royal Rooms are indeed all located in Oak Manor and Parterre Place, which are on the other side of the river from the main buildings and the main bus stop. However there is a convenient footbridge located just between the two buildings, which provides very easy access across to the main ("South") bus depot. See http://www.portorleans.org/room-requests.php for more details and a map.

Parterre Place may be the most distant of the four mansion buildings, and some of its more remote rooms can be quite a trek to get to anywhere, but the rooms in its northern-most wing are in fact the absolutely best-located of all the Royal Rooms, with some of them just a few yards away from that bridge over to the main building and bus stop.

There are so many possible jokes, and so little time... :)

Ah ah I have been saying 5-7 days. I used to say 10 but from my communication I was corrected to say 5-7 to be more accurate.

I agree we don't trash faxes.

Perfect! I was just going to ask about that. We arrive at POR 1/29. So if I fax on 1/23 before I leave ( going to Seattle on 1/24, & flying from SeaTac to Ft. Lauderdale on 1/25) home is good? Or should I wait till 25th when I arrive in Florida?

Hello, this is our first trip staying at POR. We are a group of 7, one family of 5 (so assuming AB) and one party of 2. We have garden view rooms and have requested connecting rooms, what would be the best building to choose?

So very very excited. I just faxed my room request to POR for our arrival on Thursday!! Can't believe how close it is.
Venom - I was wondering if you could share the POR phone number I could call to ensure my fax was received?
Thanks so much!!

We will be arriving at POR on Friday Jan 31.

Would it be okay to send a fax tomorrow morning (Saturday) or would they not really see it?

Otherwise I will wait until Tuesday, but I'm afraid that will be too late.

TIA!

Already posted thanks to Andre on his Q&A thread. I don't post often but I have read all the way thru this thread. Just sent my fax this morning with our requests. Not pushing in any way because we will enjoy our stay no matter whether we get any of our requests or not. There are four of us between the ages of 58 and 71 (that's me) coming for our FIRST EVER trip to WDW! We are excited. Thank you so much for all the wonderful help you have been.

We faxed our requests and used the advice we found on this page. We got a everything we asked for PLUS a beautiful corner room with 2 windows to decorate!!!

Magic Bands working well and the fast pass system is working for us - my daughter made some great choices.
