Port Orleans Resort-French Quarters, Anyone?

My take, the difference between the moderates and deluxe are , deluxe are located closer to a park, a better pool and a bigger room. Moderates always have beautiful grounds are a about the best deal overall in my opinion

We stayed at riverside 3 years ago and loved it. We will be staying in the French Quarter in a couple of weeks prior to our Fantasy cruise.

We are only staying one night before the cruise. Anyone ever stayed at this resort? :mickeybar
I stayed here the night before and after my cruise in March. I loved it

The resort is lovely. There are little quiet gardens tucked in where you can sit and relax. There's also a beautiful walkway at the back along the river which will take you to Riverside.
I was very glad I chose this resort

We have stayed there 3 times, once in the French Quarter and twice in Riverside. We love the pool at Riverside, since they are sister properties, Disney allows you to go to both pools, check out the pool at Riverside when you go. We really liked how small the French Quarter felt, nice and quaint.

Riverside has a very large gift shop, much larger than the French Quarter.

Port Orleans is a great resort!! We prefer the Riverside one over the French Quarter one, but they are both very nice!
French Quarter just got a new water playground that looks pretty cool (in addition to their sea serpent slide pool).
And be sure to have some beignets! (like donuts) Yumm!

We just stayed there for the first time last month - for the same reasons as many. A one night stay just to spend time at Disney Springs - since this was a cruise vacation and we didn't have the extra time to "do" the parks. We usually stay Deluxe, but I couldn't bring myself to be within sight of the parks with no time to visit. It was a lovely stay, even if the rooms were obviously not "deluxe". The grounds are beautiful. The boat ride to Disney Springs was very convenient and relaxing. Bell Services could have used some improvement, but we managed things - only a slight annoyance upon departure when they didn't show up as scheduled. The resort is very compact and it takes nearly no time to get anywhere. The Beignets were wonderful for breakfast. I would stay there again if we had the same type of schedule.

We stayed there two week so go for the one night before the cruise. It is a nice resort, for a moderate. One night was all I needed there though, good value. If your kids are under 48 inches, the new splash pad is nice. We go there early on Saturday and took the boat to Disney Springs for lunch. I went to tea later in the day at the GF, kids ate here and liked it. Woke up, swam, ate breakfast and a small lunch and the bus came at noon for the cruise.

we've only stayed at the sister resort -- used to be called Dixie Landings now called Riverside. We loved the grounds of both resorts and biked over to Port Orleans and loved the boat in the back to Downtown Disney. We really liked both their food courts. The Old Man River Pool is awesome.
