if we do the airline check in at the resort then we head straight to security at the airport right?

That's right. You will be dropped off on level 1 and you need to go up to level 3 to get to security.

Maybe a silly question but ....is there automatically a fridge in the POFQ rooms or do you need to request one? Thanks

There will be one in the room. Ours was in a cabinet under the TV.

If you are flying Delta, I believe it is $5 cheaper to pay for your bag via Delta then to pay the fees at the resort the day of departure. We called and paid for 1 bag the night before. The next morning, the bag was over weight (no surprise) so we waited for the gift shop to open, repacked some items, and then paid for the 2nd bag. It is much cheaper to pay for two bags than 1 overweight bag. If you have any carryons, Disney will hold these for you that morning. They have always done this for us, and have never lost or damaged anything (we buy a lot of Christmas ornaments).

Can anyone comment on the arcade at POFQ? In my Mickey Mail , I noticed that I had a voucher for 100 play points. What does that mean, in terms of games? One game? Ten games? Don't even bother going into the arcade?

It is at best two games; the good games take between 50 and 100 points. It isn't a very good arcade.

Please can anyone advise how we would transfer from POFQ to I drive? We are moving hotel mid way through the holiday, so will need to book a taxi.

Dont want to get ripped off ....... as we are from the UK, not sure what price to expect to pay?

taxi's are metered....you will pay a flat "drop fee" I think about $2.50 - $3.00 a bit for each passenger, $.50 each and then so much per mile, no way you can get ripped off! depending on how far, I'd budget $25 - $40 for it.
go down to the front of the resort and they will get you a taxi.

I always ask "how much to..." before we get in the cab. Usually you can negotiate a fixed rate that way. There are more reputable cab companies, for sure. If the front desk has ordered one for you it will be from a more trustworthy company. Are the food courts at both POFQ and POR open until at least 11pm year round? We have a late arrive at MCO (8:55pm) and are hoping we can grab a bit to eat before settling in our room. Thank! This is our first stay at FQ since the mid-90's.

Yes they are. Although some of the counters may shut-down a little earlier.

I have received a booklet from Disney that contains my Magical Express voucher and other various discounts. I've also received my luggage tags. Is this all I should expect to receive before my trip? (I think that it is, but I don't want to inadvertantly miss something!)

In 4 days we will be arriving to POFQ with Hurricane Irene
Lucky us!! We are trying to see if we can change our flight to Thurday night so at least we will be there and not trying to land during the Hurricane!!

I have to wait and check tomorrow afternoon to see if the airline will let us change. Wish us luck!!

I am wishing you luck as well as myself . We are leaving NJ on Saturday (flying out of PHL) to check in at POFQ on Sunday. We are stopping in FLL first. Hopefully Irene won't survive that long.

How is the wait for the bus since there is only one bus stop? We will be going in June.

We stayed at POR last year and since there were more then one bus stop areas it didn't take to long.

Also, if you didn't purchase a package but have your tickets, you can have the concierge desk add them to your KTTW card. We bought tickets through Underground Tourist last year and booked room only at POFQ. There was no problem with putting our UT WDW tickets onto our KTTW. Sure made things simpler for us!
