This thread is great. Lots of great information.

Quick question... has anyone had difficulty getting reservations for POFQ?

I am looking to book probably in April/May for a trip the first week of October.

Do you think I will have a problem getting a standard room?

I will say this...I changed my POR ressie to FQ about 2 weeks ago, which at the time was about 2 months away from my vacation. I also got a FL resident discount. By the time of your vacation, all the rooms will be refurbed so they should all be open to guests, relatively speaking. I tend to travel during the moderate to high crowd times, and when I look online to get prices, FQ always pops up as an option and I never book more than a few months in advance, if that. You should be ok :thumbsup2

I booked my room for March in mid Jan. I used an AP discount but they were showing rooms at POFQ with standard rates (I didn't check about any Disney discounts besides my AP). I don't think you'll have a problem at all. They are considering March 17 a peak period because we had to pay the peak period price for the DDP and I was still able to get a rate nearly 2 months away so in early Oct, I can't see how you would have an issue getting a room!

Thanks for the quick replies. Maybe I will hold off even longer, unless of course a good deal come up. Either way it still looks to be cheaper then most of the other Moderates at that time of year. And the theme is definatly something different for my Mom and I. October can't get here soon enough.

Andre - calling Andre - there is a post on page 1 from yesterday from someone who is at POFQ now and says they are working on Building no. 1.

I would have thought that would have been the last building to be done????

Hi all

We are heading for our first trip to POFQ on 10 July for two weeks!! Cannot wait!!!

It was not our original first choice but was the one we were getting the best package deal on from the UK at time!! Soooooooooo happy now!

Can't wait!!

Glad you found us!

I asked the mod who closed the old thread if all the subscribed participants to that old one could be auto-joined to this new thread, or at least just to add one last post there, pointing to this new thread, but not had a reply as yet.

I just changed my POR reservation for this June (12 nights total) a few days ago over to POFQ, standard room. It was a tough choice, POR is my favorite but I wanted a newly redone room with a queen bed. I also took one look at that new bathroom vanity and knew my teenage daughter's junk would fit into that way better than the sinks at POR!

I have had trouble in the past getting POFQ but not this time. And I was able to keep the same discount code I'd had at POR. I would book ASAP just to be safe. And if you don't get availablity, keep checking back. Stuff opens up all the time.

Thanks for the info. I posted in the old thread a while back that I wondered whether they might just decide to work inwards from the other end of the resort, and leave the middle building until last - looks like that's what they're doing.

So 1, 3, 2 would now be my prediction for the order of the remaining buildings. Then, when POR starts I'm betting on Parterre Place first. It's fun trying to second-guess the way Disney thinks! :)

I was just going to comment as above. I am guessing working out to in is what they decided. Regardless only 3 more buildings until it's all done!!!!

Currently staying in building 6. Refurbished King Room, river view. Loving it! Forgot my LGMEs though. Bummer!

It is so fresh, there are still pencil marks near some of the fixtures indicating level lines for the contractors. I like the tile in the tubs too!

Andre,
I'll be watching your POR rehab predictions closely. Staying at POR in August 2011 after many trips at POFQ. We have requested AB but if the mansions are done first I may have to change my request :)

I also was wondering why no new posts on the old thread. Glad I checked it.

Glad to know my favorite bldg (5) is done:thumbsup2. Now if May would just get here!!

Looking forward to reports from those staying the next few months.

We have stayed there 3 times & look forward to going back "home".

We're diehard POR fans, but switched to POFQ for the rehabbed room for our August trip. Those queen beds were too inviting! I'm sure we'll both enjoy our stay at POFQ. It's a nice resort, and I'm looking forward to staying there.

I agree that Parterre Place will be the first section renovated. It's probably the least desired location. I wonder if they will do themed rooms (Princess theme) in that section?

We Rode the boat in from DTD last night and it appears that they are working on building 1 right now. Some of the rooms look like they were down to the studs! :scared1:

Thanks for that. Is building 5 fully open now, or are they maybe overlapping the work at all?

 It is our favorite location! Corner room, river view...perfection! But don't let everyone know or we'll never get our location request again so easily!:thumbsup2

If Disney really does some specially themed rooms over at POR, I fear it will be in Parterre Place - although it is certainly not like CBR Trinidad So. Bldg 38 and those waaay in the back would be more like TS - if Disney is trying the same game plan and selling the least popular locations by giving theme a special theme, I am hoping the truly least convenient locations would be the ones. Of course, AB hardly goes with a HM theme!

Guess I need to head over to the POR thread and catch up with the latest news.:goodvibes

Glad you like it! We felt as if we were a little too far off the edge of the resort there, but it is certainly a pretty location! It'll be interesting to see if any of the rooms will be themed.

That is a cute dog in your avatar! :goodvibes

just booked POFQ for march 28-30. it will be my first time at any PO resort. this schedule was best for my g/f and i. she is a 1st grade teacher and will be on spring break and i'm an RN so schedule isn't hard for me. What are the main differences in POR and FQ?

POR - a bit better food court; much larger grounds; a sit-down restaurant and a marina to rent boats or bikes.

POFQ - much more compact; very far along in their refurb; love the beignets; one bus stop. But the biggest thing is that you can use all the amentities at POR.

Also, love, love, love the water taxi to DTD. Do it every night just to unwind before you close out the evening.

Enjoy!
