DH will be celebrating our first anniversary at Disney this November . It will be our first time at POFQ. What sort of room location would you request at this resort?? I understand that requests are not always granted, but I really have no idea what a good request would even be! We plan on renting a car and are not planning on eating at Sassagoula Floatworks much, so my preference would be to be near a parking lot, in a decently quiet area. Any recommendations??

POFQ is the smallest moderate so no location is too far from any other location. From what you have said your best request would be to simply request quiet room near parking. Be sure to tell them that you are celebrating your first anniversary and perhaps some pixiedust: will be spread your way. If you want to be near parking but without looking right out at the parking lot then for $10 more per night you could book Garden View and request quiet location, near parking.

I am a HUGE fan of POFQ! When we stayed there on our last trip, we were in a standard room in building #1 and it was perfect! We were facing the parking lot, first floor, corner room and we loved it! No matter what building you are in at French Quarter, you are pretty close to everything since it is such a small resort. It is still so peaceful and quiet and so charming. I would say one of the buildings along the river also would be great.

For my upcoming trip in September, I was only able to get the Free Dining with a River View Room, and I cannot wait for that! The Sassagoula River is so amazing.. I love walking down the path, just taking it all in. Waking up every morning to the river is going to be a treat!

You can jump over to the POFQ board to see the map, but you can pretty much score a room facing the parking lot. You do definately want to request quiet area; they do have movies on the courtyard each night and they can go late.

Thanks for all the advice! I will call and request a room in a quiet area. Also considering upgrading to Garden View. Does anyone know where the king bed rooms are located?? It's so expensive to upgrade but I'm pretty tempted!

I like building four the best, it's not by the pool, but still close. It's right near the cafeteria and bus stop. I also like 5,2, and 3. If you're looking for quiet, 7 and 1 are the furthest from everything. Last time we stayed there, the only choice was a "river view", which is pretty, but DD got the stomach virus for a day and we listened to the boats going back and forth from DTD blowing their horns all day long! We were out of our minds by the next day. It really didn't bother us until we spent all day in the room - lol. We've had some great rooms at POFQ. With one room, we were able to see fire works from MK and Epcot when standing outside our room, I think that was when we stayed in building 6. Luckily, no matter where you stay it's such a small resort that every room is close to everything. While we've been resort hoping lately with the 30% room discounts for deluxes, we still consider POFQ our home away from home.
