Port of Miami - Special assistance through security?

When we travel by air we call the TSA special assistance line and get extra help to go through screening. This is so helpful getting two autistic kids through the sensory overloading environment. Next year we're cruising on DCL out of Miami. Has anyone ever attempted to get special assistance to get through their security? Do you know if there's a special line or any help DCL can do for us for check in?

Our specific issues are if overwhelmed, DS5 will bolt, won't be able to process verbal instructions, and needs extra time to be ready to go through the metal detector. Some times he wants to go 3 or 4 times through as well. If we travel with a stroller, we have to leave him in until the very last second for his safety. DD10 can't process auditory information in loud environments unless you do certain things to gain and keep her attention. I typically have to interpret what's being asked of her which just takes extra time inpatient passengers behind us in line don't appreciate. The TSA special screening has been wonderful for us.

I haven't boarded in Miami, but I haven't ever noticed special assistance at Port Canaveral like I've seen at airports. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but I haven't noticed it. You might also try cross-posting to the Cruiseline forum as well.

Enjoy your vacation!

1) Of course, there might be.
2) But, every cruise, everyone seems to go through the same lines/machines.
. . . regular people
. . . wheelchairs
. . . scooters
. . . kids
. . . canes and crutches
3) We have had all sorts of folks in-front or behind us.
4) No one seemed to have preference or special treatment.
