For a variety of reasons, my family will not be using DCL ground transfers before and after our upcoming cruise.

Can anyone predict how easy or difficult it will be to get from the Port of LA to LAX by taxi after we disembark?

Thanks.
Kelley

afterthought: I think I'll post this on the cruise board, too.

Try contacting Supershuttle. I think they may be able to help you. It might be pricey though! Good luck!

It should be very easy. We went on an RCCL cruise a few years ago and ended up taking the bus from the cruiseline back to the airport, but decided we should have just taken a taxi. There will be taxis lined up at LAX, just tell them you are going to the cruise terminal and are on DCL and they will know right where to take you. Los Angeles is not nearly as scary a place as people make it out to be. You will be just fine.

(I am originally from So CA and fly into LAX regularly which gives my familly heart attacks and they won't come get me so I have to rent a car. I kid you not!! Never had a single issue.)

Thanks for the info. So, you're saying there will taxis at the port, right? I'm just double checking because you say they'll be lined up at LAX, but I don't need one at LAX...I just need one at the port AFTER the cruise. Thanks.

Sorry, I read that backwards!! Yes, going from the port to the airport will be even easier. When we got off of the ship, we saw this long line of taxis, minivans etc and there was even a sign by them saying $40 fare to LAX. Major bummer since we had paid like $40 EACH to ride the bus the cruiseline provided. (Again, this was RCCL but I can't imagine the same thing won't happen at DCL)

Great! Thanks. Exactly what I wanted to hear.

We were on the Royal Carribean Vision of The Seas and we opted to drive to the airport. We had the best luck renting from Enterprise on-site at the docks (if I remember right, theirs a shuttle) and returning it to the enterprise at LAX. Its MUCH cheaper (especially for a family) to do it this way instead of using SuperShuttle.
