Port days- activities onboard

We have 2 children ages 3 and 5 and we are not going on any excursions when we go to Cozumel in march on a 4 night cruise out of galveston. We took them last year and got off the boat (non DCL) and looked around and got back on the boat and enjoyed it not being crowded. We were thinking of doing the same thing on our DCL cruise. Is there enough to do on port days? Are we missing out on excursions? With a 3 yo, it seems our choices are limited anyway.

Curious about this too. We are taking the 4 day cruise from Galveston also but not until December. Was planning to get off the boat in Cozumel (kids will be 15, 12 and 7) but hubby was saying he was thinking of just relaxing and staying on the boat.

I don't like Cozumel...staying on the ship is nice. The kid programming will be fully operational. There will be movies, pool time, spa specials. There generally are not many character meets if any. The only thing that isn't open is the shops--laws won't allow them to be open while in port.

You can check out previous navigators linked at the top bar under "staterooms" to see what has happened on the ship in the past. We skip Cozumel as well.

As others have said, there is plenty to do onboard while in port. It's a great time to visit the pool without crowds. (For others reading this...) on the Dream or Fantasy, there's usually little to no line for the AquaDuck. Kids clubs are all open. Movies. Spa. Restaurants. Lounges. Not sure what other suggestions you are expecting?
