Title says it all. This is based on the manager of one of the hotels that offers the discount coupon, who had it "in writing." The desk clerks I spoke with today knew of it coming. They didn't know for sure if this was for all hotels, but believed so, since it was based on notification from the Port Canaveral office.

I guess I'm not surprised...with their unreasonably high parking rates, it appears they are looking to squeeze as much money out of an almost captive audience, and the discount (even if subsidized partly by the hotels) was doing nothing but reducing their bottom line. Be interesting to see if this drives people to use the hotel parking/shuttle program, or perhaps other offsite parking companies.

I am surprised they are ending it. The port authority wants to fill their lots and this seemed like the perfect solution without lowering the actual price of parking across the board.

I remember when parking there was $7.00 per day. I am not fond of any price increases but overall I still think the current price is reasonable for parking compared to other places....especially the port in New York which is $40.00 per day.

I think the convenience of parking at the port lot can't be beat and I am willing to pay the current price to park there.

I don't mind paying it, but I did make my hotel plans based on that 40% deal. I would have chosen another hotel (which has skyrocketed in price), had this offer not been on the table.

Arrival of OASIS and EPIC to PC has driven the off site parking places to bursting their capacity

so the port no longer needs to lure you in ......

same applies to the local hotels ..... the weekly passenger count is WAY up .... good for business and means RAISE the prices as the market is FAT

That is really disappointing! We chose our hotel last time based on the 40% off coupon for parking at the port. We prefer the convenience of having our car right there and not having to take a shuttle, so, unfortunately, we'll pay the higher amount to park at the port.

I wonder if my hotel will be notifying me. I booked a room at a special "40% off parking" rate for March 2017.

BTW - Which hotel, if you don't mind my asking.

I have looked for something from PC but can't find it. The hotel was HS, and they had it in writing at the desk. Wonder if it is just for them, but I doubt it. They are a new, beautiful, and expensive hotel. This helps make the stay there more affordable.

With that and the huge increase in price at the PC hotels, we are just staying at the Caribbean Beach resort for extra Disney magic. About the same price and I'd much rather stay at a Disney hotel anyways.

I just went to the Port Canaveral webpage and clicked on the Parking section. It no longer is showing the list of hotels with 40% off parking like it did before. I even did a search for discounted parking and didn't find anything. I used this offer last year and it was very convenient and saved me money for parking. It's a shame they will no longer offer it. Although I don't have a cruise planned out of the Port Canaveral anytime soon, the next time I do, I will miss this discount and most likely pay the full price for parking because of the convenience.

We used it last week. Not only did it save the 40% at the port for parking but you have to book with the package rate and our hotel stay dropped by $30!! Wacky!

I have the definitive answer from a Mr. David Poston listed as the Port Canaveral contact on the PDF I linked and the OP is 100% correct:

It sucks but as others have said there is no reason to stay a night at Port Canaveral any longer. But I will still park at the port.

Agreed. Now that the deal is ending, my wife and I have discussed just staying at the Gaylord (our favorite Orlando hotel, and we usually stay there for free with Marriott points) or at the World until Saturday morning and then heading to PC about 7 am, grabbing breakfast in PC and waiting for the terminal to open.
