I saw an article the other day celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of the raunchy teen comedy. I saw it sometime during the spring of 1982 and enjoyed it despite some of the gross and puerile scenes.

And for all the dirty old men who were horny teenagers.

Has anybody seen Mike Hunt?

I was 25, I was a virgin, so wasn't horny , saw at the military PX theatere, a little embarassed...but gotta give Kim Catrell credit that she overcame that very bad professional choice, but then it was crazy...look what happen to my first starlet love Sean Young.

I never saw these movies entirely, but I most remember the Graveyard Gloria bit in Porky’s 2, involving the whole cemetery prank. I actually forgot Kim Cantrell was even in Porky’s, the earliest I remember her was in Police Academy.

The Porky’s director, Bob Clark, also did A Christmas Story and lots of cool horror films. Talk about a varied filmography.

OMG, I haven’t seen those movies in ages. I don’t know how well they aged or not. I just remember seeing that trilogy back in college and laughing until I about got sick. IIRC some, if not all of that would be considered offensive today, but at the time those movies were hilarious.

It was kind of “forbidden fruit” for me because my mother had talked about how funny these movies were but would not allow me to watch them. So of course when I finally had the opportunity, I watched them.

This is the only Porky I know. And I was not only not a teen when it came out, I was married.View attachment 656043

Aww, come on, tvguy. You may have been a bit older than the target audience, but I can’t believe you never heard of this film.

Most if not all of the actors portraying high school kids were well into their 20s. Just like Grease and other films and TV shows about high school.

I knew exactly what this thread was about when I read the title…lol

40 years wow. Yes I have seen this movie when it first came out.

We may need an 'R' rating for this thread.....

In the article I read it said they had to cut a few scenes to avoid an X rating. I guess that was before the NC-17 rating existed.

Which reminds me. Growing up my parents subscribed to the Catholic Archdiocese weekly newspaper. They had their own ratings for films, one of which was “Condemned,” unsuitable for ALL. You will definitely go straight to hell if you see these films. It would be worse than killing the Pope.

Of course that just wanted to make me see them, but alas, I was way too young.

I saw it on TV, like HBO or something. I didn't find it funny- I'm actually not a big fan of teen s*x comedies, and this movie was how I found that out. I'm not a snob or anything, just don't like them.

That kind of humor is definitely not for everyone. One of the gals I saw it with felt the same way.

No, I heard of it, just not my cup of tea. The Fritz the Cat movies were the biggies when I was in College. That was an eye opening as an 18 year old Freshman the first week of school when the University run theater featured a Fritz the Cat movie marathon.

Funny how those movies were such a staple back then. I remember Bachelor Party, Joysticks, Zapped, etc. Not sure if Revenge of the Nerds and Just One of the Guys counts in the same genre, but that JOotG was one of my favorites. (Girl pretends to be a guy in high school, for reasons I've completely forgotten.)
